Job Description:

# T, _2 V& R5 B# g8 h2 ]Recruit Participants

-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
; P# ^( @# ^. f# q+ r5 h-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities

2 i- o, U% C, O) e/ N. F% T" GOrganize Leadership Training Sessions
. u9 R1 y5 I5 G8 c9 k+ j. a-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
% V: e. Q0 Y5 g' _0 R-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas

- h1 F, W5 V! {# _Plan and Facilitate identified public events
! n  c9 \  d$ _-        with youth participants
, U* e4 a, z$ E5 C" i# w
2 z- A7 z. d, H9 O; k3 FMedia coverage
-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project
# \, B& y9 O1 [9 R* I+ w/ [0 V
Networking
- j2 j% I4 t3 R$ P+ [-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
# ]% F* f) h+ o$ V6 F-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

Professional Development
, x" ^! D2 n$ t4 }8 v0 w/ n-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

9 _; T" ^( C/ R# f. h; f8 `0 U-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
" o% T6 F% L0 G: z1 p" u% D-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

7 q- J8 T" ]' C2 Y3 oProject Evaluation
-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
# l2 W& ~7 N: T/ x2 w: m5 x0 w-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model


Qualifications for this Position

-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
/ V0 `/ ^" m& B6 `& J, z7 h% J-        experience with project coordination
-        degree or diploma in human services field
5 D9 U% w9 _1 B-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
