Job Description:

Recruit Participants

-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities
# O4 F8 o  \8 e8 z0 B5 z" C
! I' i  L" T0 H' S# ZOrganize Leadership Training Sessions
* H9 ]0 r" [. P- s* r9 T-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas

Plan and Facilitate identified public events
-        with youth participants

6 I! z1 J3 s8 i2 z" [6 o" SMedia coverage
-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project

Networking
6 G0 n, v+ s! I& p2 K-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
' I: s) ^& y' y6 n) E% S-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

Proposal Creation
-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
4 f: I/ p3 L; H9 {0 Q-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

8 J7 \  z6 o& E: B-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model

Qualifications for this Position

8 _5 q5 }9 j3 I- L& d7 g-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
  h5 \  B$ @! l2 \- [% L* ^-        experience with project coordination
-        degree or diploma in human services field
-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
