What Makes Christmas Magical

therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a 5 l; b% c5 u' m3 U% d# m
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then & Q) o' t# F; O
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can 4 N- O2 G, R. A5 ~) m
smartly avoid it?/ ]$ \0 |& I" o: U) u; N6 i
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out ( B. e+ I2 }% G# P! S* `" m
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
) P; K9 ^  n( [$ M  X/ j0 m6 {to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
/ ]- o/ H- L$ j1 _! gmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies

especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more 7 m: _2 N  {5 `* Y
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
5 A* N+ N% G4 M& E  y?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
/ E2 O: _' R1 i  t9 U5 zsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
0 g% Y3 r! z- o5 q, _" Xbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
  p- X% h1 s5 `- Y" ffrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
9 K- g% X- h8 a" [* \tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into # W8 a& M% X8 f" M
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
; l& y  Q1 o( _$ Bbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or ' i, u3 k- a5 Z; o& t% s8 p8 n
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are ( h' w6 K; r, G
heartily enjoying the holiday treats.?
0 b% [& H- u9 w3 o! Q4 t?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies - ~, U+ Y0 U, ?: ~7 T/ z6 L7 ?
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
% H4 f" p( h1 p! A; Uhealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down , M& L& p- K9 M; X
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
* a# P. i8 W* X; o! fcandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of 2 D5 h+ j# r) p$ g
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
