this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

' k, J7 M, r' ~0 B3 z• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
. N% P: _+ S$ b! x6 [3 Uthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ( }- q8 b1 ^ p! d" D8 O
the Board of Directors; 7 i# x$ { N- S" y
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations : i4 m7 z! h6 i& k" E6 X% z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! _" v8 {2 h2 C: _, g
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / S1 X. O, B6 p ]8 R# ]0 Q
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
4 `2 \. W$ E- h% F- Uobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; % `' r' ~6 _$ Q
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
$ V! ?/ p: J* Ythe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& R( |+ |, N9 Z* }' N• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
( n1 w N% Q3 G# I& m) T5 P wchanging needs of the organization and community; - l! D/ H9 l( m1 [+ E: |1 F
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; + L, N& Q9 h: R5 S: I- ]# a% f
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ( t m2 o& }* W4 A# |. l1 b
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; , |8 @) x: ] z5 ] K
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 1 _, Z1 F* L6 n3 m8 K, G
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

* x. p, l1 p( ?1 C• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring : |- C" L, Y3 u* { J! C5 X; N/ }
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
5 k7 ~6 q, |6 V' b• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 1 Y; I1 ]" G9 Y" ~3 U
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
7 T6 [/ h( r+ M" Fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; : U8 U" k- `" D* Y
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation # n3 c8 o4 D$ g
abilities;
