• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of }+ t1 |7 ]- e7 }9 w4 Q- c
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
; n. U( P/ m+ p. n" E& dthe Board of Directors;
7 y$ f( ?2 d0 h$ U/ \8 y• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 5 `: x. K" \' q) ~
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to / R2 s5 n3 ?0 S" R1 K1 w
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
! b- @+ F7 O3 j& r+ L$ E$ h' s• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
; J: d# n; B: K+ {8 g3 Fobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
; h5 l. h9 `0 _# W9 d• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
+ X; V m2 o( G- E4 mthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
' x; ^3 f5 C/ U• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the " B. i9 u6 G9 N
changing needs of the organization and community; 3 Y+ [% A8 j( |
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 8 ?) B |/ B2 ^4 M; I

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
& C, |4 _5 w& O8 G3 C8 y$ s• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective & X1 L% h! I+ L3 n2 i
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ' [( N* `% q6 U
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
' A3 u& x, s2 G" d! t7 D; C% A• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
7 f4 i" K5 q; s+ Jthe implementation of systems to manage these risks;
: c- Z5 x$ _8 b6 ], Z& Z• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
: U) ~% n7 d5 y( m& U8 x) w' c9 r7 Pperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
5 i4 t5 M# v* Z, _1 c& `2 p8 Cthe forthcoming year;
7 E2 G; f3 K0 n m• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
/ z1 G/ \* V, p7 ?8 t4 jpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ( R! {! A' d% |& x) S* c/ f9 @
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification
( m: K9 C+ E K! z! p• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience % A$ j2 H2 c% A* L
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
9 S% t* C% S$ Q8 y• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
/ N% H9 f( {7 p5 Y x4 Oabilities; 0 U1 c9 N8 c+ }) ^) P: Q
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting / n. y5 g! R7 N% \
and financial statements; and
