The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

execution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
6 {1 A# [& Y( x. k% Xthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
6 {; M6 C: b8 k% Bthe Board of Directors;
) N7 v- P6 S6 J ]4 Z9 X% a2 S• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
# T6 T( o& O: V1 t" _0 Aincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ( [+ Y: K7 y0 n {8 V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
$ v1 t6 f, V6 ?1 r• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
9 ]/ ~$ u7 k# [5 u8 y) s: _# B$ ~objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by 9 E5 N5 ]* U) I

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
; U5 \. N! d- S6 h8 c9 v- E# `• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
. v# q5 {" X0 w ]( S! Othe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
4 I1 J* j0 a9 ]) f$ K, V• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 [3 _: t- n9 V4 |/ o/ x' ~
commitments;
: E6 o6 \. ~. b+ W$ u• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
; @ \* w7 q; E# s1 [/ m- \9 M$ t• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 8 V% v; L9 e& k& |
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; % E- C. C' p7 e
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * @( V9 O$ a8 a& R
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to : K4 o% W; N0 `% m. v
effectively and positively represent the association; % G% m& Y6 w* M

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring ! K8 @% ?. x0 F9 G+ h0 V
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 u4 N" n+ U2 M. k• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
# X% x) i7 K5 y, Nperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
" [9 j% y8 v- \- ]1 Qthe forthcoming year; 8 |% J7 z; Z0 i5 L% U! i: X
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical # U. v F! Z; I# l& e3 |
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

! L% \: d# a8 Q+ m, S• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task / @; v' {' U2 L" d. D C

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
; N0 }$ m) f4 e: c) p+ E• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation % x( {% \! w# ]
abilities; 3 ^; \4 q! S( [0 i- V
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
) _* ~$ @ f* b3 R7 w0 N0 F3 n8 XNetworking and Fundraising; ; k9 _: _/ r4 o( y: u, J s
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting & u" h b1 b k, @; V4 q
and financial statements; and
6 D" T8 B2 o8 R+ g2 p' k• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women - K9 \8 G4 ^* {( }
centered perspective.
