Any input on Cutler-Hammer Starter?

% I  J. n- p7 d* F1 X9 wTwo  cutler –hammer advantage  starters are  doing the same thing:
! S8 z' j$ U% ]9 M' h7 E1 z$ i. H* S. v After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the  start and stop buttons on DCS screen  , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.
It is a cycle.

. ~( q  J: C: f' {% B, o  JWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.
- S3 M0 a2 T! y8 X+ `Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
& \7 I+ w7 g8 t6 W7 rThe problem should be inside the bucket.

# u8 f- Q9 Q  o* a1 r( ?; EWhen the problem happened, we observed that  the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
: P0 y% n; u8 \Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
- J* |6 k+ K& N) V9 uConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we  bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.

9 U1 A1 i* u6 AThe next thing we can think of  is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
They  have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered  the connection and tried again.
It is getting better  this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.

Don't know cutler –hammer advantage  starters very well, but had been worked on AB switch gears for a little while, which has two different coils, one to pull the vacum bottles up which employs larger current, another one uses less current to hold the connection---if the second coil fails, it won't be able to seal the connection.
Since your cutler -hammer works couple times,  I guess 侠客行 is right, or the sealing connection is just worn out.
