Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
+ g$ H* ]1 X* v  W1 ^% F% R7 {  V' \2 SMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
8 e% S/ G# O) h9 A% JMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
! B8 f% Z: `: E% a! \4 xIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
. ?* Y7 o2 O, @* Y' XParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.

$ _* e* z, E8 d1 x$ j. L& c7 GMust have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
- c! q7 N+ \! j7 gMust be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
' A& T7 ?& x# ^: TAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
! m6 n2 P* ?4 _1 N, b, tProficiency in a second language is an asset.
