( T( D* y- E4 i) J6 S9 q' X: }; _; VIn collaboration with the Director of Care, develops the philosophy of nursing, statement of purpose for nursing services, goals and objectives, policies and procedures and the description of nursing functions. ) v o& X% O2 _4 d: n" x$ \1 q
Plans, directs, develops, co-ordinates, implements and evaluates resident care services.
* p4 Y9 T+ M* d# B* N* `3 RAligns resident care services with the defined needs of the internal and external community. 5 h$ u3 Z3 |# f7 @( X3 n
Oversees the financial and human resource management of the service. + }8 Z: w r3 M: n
Maintains the service in accordance with legislative and professional standards.
, G9 P/ i( D3 c7 t( _3 \Maintains a liaison with hospital, medical staff, community and health care related disciplines and partners to ensure the most effective provision of care delivery in the facility.
D) i7 |% g0 ZExercises authority over resident care staff such as; supervises, directs, evaluates, hires, fires and promotes for the purpose of ensuring quality care and a safe, effective and efficient work environment.
* X! `4 B9 C3 p/ ?; NEnsures the availability and maintenance of Nursing Department supplies and equipment to meet the departmental needs in a fiscally responsible manner. " L3 e2 _, w, w+ e3 z8 [+ F
Discusses and collaborates with the Director of Care on issues relating to Infection Control and co-ordinates associated monitoring activities within the facility. ! b, v5 Y# y- Z/ N/ q& F% L' C1 ]
Assumes responsibilities of the Director of Care as required in the absence of the Director of Care.

Ensures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted.

. q4 s9 m( _* U- H- K$ U- o' Q4 kA Registered Nurse meeting the requirements to holding a license in the applicable Province.
- Z" [ R" x; z% KPost RN education in gerontology or 3 years experience in long-term care.
" J D8 W: B- r8 K4 XPost RN education in management or 3 years relevant managerial experience.
6 P9 u2 C& ]& o1 J& N/ u5 BPossession of strong motivational, team building and time management skills. 2 `- t7 g) G5 |5 Z6 r8 k
Is computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel. " F+ |" U( e) X' N
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
