Responsibilities:3 s$ @3 K- U$ S- L+ I
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth; f( q9 ^+ W7 l
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
/ o; D# O+ _, t7 z' r- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
5 w6 {5 c/ ^+ v. v) X- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs( z9 ?3 H9 B) x/ R% D6 R
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

' X4 H& T" N% p4 W/ a# |Key Qualifications:
) Q4 [$ R* @6 K0 E' W) \+ F- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
& X* U% P3 L- w9 I+ Z- {- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
& n6 s( u, W, ?- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
, p+ G) O& T9 J- Experience doing program development
; o, K3 L# @+ x; N( X. F* s" j* A1 }- Strong organizational and coordination skills
' a, ~1 O# _$ a5 G- Self-directed and able to take initiative; d5 J! g, Y( E7 S, ]
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
+ C7 G, j& ~* K2 [4 u- \) R- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
; C6 [" h3 J% F, _- Skills in marketing & promotions C/ L2 _# P: y9 a: m
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
