Responsibilities:6 Z2 d" V5 J: E* g& E7 T* D
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth' z. M: \/ P' p) p
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
' i! Z: K* b: n. S- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
7 u H! [3 k; C: E- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs5 F+ T, Q. ^" E/ ^
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health' I# f% R9 s3 f8 x/ E
; m3 ?& i5 P7 T! ]

Key Qualifications:6 i; W" B1 w K' z9 ~" O) D7 w/ s
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences! W* r* ]1 e1 d& {9 s5 @
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
, H% {' b8 ^3 k" `- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
% N5 I- ~1 @& g' R. V; b V- Experience doing program development( u' d0 S, Y- e+ X* t. c
- Strong organizational and coordination skills+ M' o) q! [9 ?+ O7 m; D5 l& @, w" h8 S& N
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
3 K9 _5 m T4 Q/ v- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
4 p1 j5 M& S3 {# S* K- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health4 }6 d r, T0 e
- Skills in marketing & promotions
