To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:9 g F6 s+ i2 v* i, {5 p) \4 t- t
5 i, v* |( Y, z* A t2 u5 Lhave at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician ' K) R9 a% s- N- Y {* r
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.$ x' |9 k/ z# D
5 {: S7 M8 ~* F' Q J/ ]complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office' Y# ~1 J& d1 [( @' ?% X. R! i

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above ) N" v; p# m2 c9 _) A; p& w
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
