THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
( Y9 V' J& z5 U) E/ x, x; ^Eligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
1 w; y  y( o1 b- ^) I•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
! S5 k+ |/ }; d& {$ J3 y•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
0 v3 F$ t- x! Y& f! v) m•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
. O# K* q1 S: S6 n•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
" v1 R1 F. w' c2 `) V3 n, R$ Q•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
  w. p- ]2 k8 X- r2 J5 u•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
