THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:! ~) @- K8 g% p% J# |
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS [3 ^# K) ` K
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
( Y9 V' J& z5 U) E/ x, x; ^Eligibility Criteria' |0 s/ v7 W' Y% o+ P
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
1 w; y y( o1 b- ^) I•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
! S5 k+ |/ }; d& {$ J3 y•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education* o/ p. V6 G# f8 E9 Y
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
0 v3 F$ t- x! Y& f! v) m•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada + u; Q& k0 G5 O! C( Y6 s6 P7 b
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
. O# K* q1 S: S6 n•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less1 S( e5 O# F' W7 _# b
•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks

Time Commitment* f3 G# N/ Y& K1 S" w
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
