THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
, O; v6 B# x$ q0 G2 s, h" eAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
$ S0 j3 d7 t0 h1 ]! U2 ]•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
: c7 M( U; [  q; q! }7 R" T) R•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
) n% i6 G# g6 b1 i# t•Be eligible to work in Canada
* D! e% l4 o' P, u1 P; J( C•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
) i0 S! {  I, a/ R•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
