THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:7 t" W2 ]; C/ d8 g# j( O- y8 C
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS, V! k( a+ W( O5 {* A" t. ?* u
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.# w' ?% s% l$ S8 S
Eligibility Criteria; d+ r( J: m& D$ F7 K- O' s1 l" P" d
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:+ f1 T j# S$ i& h
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
* ]7 D# L$ _% \5 w6 o3 e•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
7 a6 d4 a/ x. A+ z+ E; D3 S•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
0 N) H! ~ E3 v: A q•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
; L8 Q! b8 e7 D0 U•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
- ~! A3 i& k( `" ^( E•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
9 b7 @" Q" _0 S9 J' }•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks" J; P2 U7 w5 s0 z8 e9 P
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

: d, f5 {4 G' UThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week. k) B& m& |3 B; a, }3 ^
