24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
! X( C5 P+ K! g: O: vThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
* H0 h8 R. d( I# T1 \Eligibility Criteria' f- o! T- N K C" c( w2 `6 T
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:. Z4 h4 m# E7 U
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less5 i2 L1 B0 T" }' P6 \# z: F: ]+ G
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
, r: W) E7 |/ k- |6 ]$ M6 i•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
- Y0 Y+ y) E! D$ ]7 {•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
0 ?" ? f- q% N& E! d9 E! f$ x3 n9 F•No prior Canadian work experience in their field* k& q# l$ _2 m
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
$ [ ]1 V$ |8 H•Be eligible to work in Canada
* [+ I3 G3 f# T/ P) g6 Z$ B' D•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
! ], g( T6 D& k* R" F•Lack access to professional networks1 X8 v, I) r# J# z/ f( b7 u
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week. F/ ^, U1 L2 k! t" P1 \
