Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.5 e5 [; w% r8 t5 q. v9 Q* ~

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.% ]; X# H0 c* Q/ r6 U& d

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.$ F2 G) V |2 ?

) P5 o& l) x" S) C' s% B* W- r• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA. L* h8 H" U' W' b1 ~1 [0 I

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.2 x6 r; ~* F. `# @; U; P

. c, ?7 U" l* K3 E- K' F( V. K& F+ m• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions' H6 Z4 C) v5 ]3 d6 a: C3 M; D

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

& D G- O- W" u/ i3 N5 ~2 e• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.. u0 v0 x# }. @2 u* T+ X8 c
