Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.# t3 ~& ]# ?' m% B* R
& G) @, M6 A5 N' L; ~ t% h
Police say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.

Officers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van.

1 E/ V& B. t+ a# x! y) z" I9 O$ JPolice say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.' j0 D+ U# C1 M. c# S* X( D
1 S0 _, s' h% M8 w# \Roughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.
