Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: : c5 @$ R# ]: [2 h/ ~

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: : k% X' u3 I% I; F# [0 g+ r( Y
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee , R% U- z: d: \: G+ H4 J- U# g
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 1 e2 `: a( L/ F- u7 v) t! w3 i
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the + n; J/ ]. [0 |6 L
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure & _) W+ k- }% X% Y
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. ( @- }7 @, H1 y( c% ] {
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ' _* y* j) s. l6 X0 M6 X3 m
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
7 G8 j5 B9 r+ `+ o8 R5 T' o# {· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
6 }* t3 v% v2 n8 ?2 w5 |· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers / O; b3 g' X1 y6 ?$ W$ U4 v0 `& Y# I' y
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
4 O, m- c: k2 x1 S( s! O8 f· Complete program administration, statistics and records ! v7 s" [* S, J" q$ o- w
4 j3 H/ @) I5 `Qualifications:
8 b- T( @+ V! F/ v. A* K& s; S$ r· Completion of 12th$ n6 P4 u1 s& N3 }/ ?' M1 \' V4 u$ |
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 9 Z, u4 N* K- K- ?1 J
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. + n6 L5 _+ }8 E2 G+ m+ Y
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct - G/ s% d( W8 P. j6 s. p
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
0 m3 l9 Y8 R( T- ^$ R· Experience working with and managing volunteers
4 m) K/ O/ R, t7 _) I: O· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 1 o* c! ~) ~# L& S
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
% Z0 L& O/ e1 G( u/ J" x: @· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training , J' [( u+ O8 n. `5 U
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
