Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
) m& \- R- I) {8 n- d& w4 ~· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee * h# }1 Y3 @3 m1 _
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
. z* g! {% p$ c% u: ]with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the . F3 f5 C; C. E- h* l# ^. ^
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 9 x9 e0 v! S& o. Y1 |- J6 X1 G# y
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. c- V+ U6 z( ?' H2 ]. O1 i3 @ t+ @
· Attend and manage Special Events

0 d/ D* ^3 O. a% n3 R7 A4 G# v( VAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
1 T2 W' V0 f5 z- ?9 M· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
& W i# ~5 R! F, P$ t: [· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
/ d7 G, f! i. A7 Q; f· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ' P+ e# K: w& U/ Z! {
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

7 D. W M6 J( V9 c2 @Qualifications:
; X0 ]4 M* t$ I( c' j· Completion of 12th
5 l1 J# G0 ~6 b1 l1 K Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 5 j- x9 a" m/ m
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. # P- T# F" I% O0 o C
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct & @% y2 V/ q$ L Y0 U
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events " S6 B+ ^2 N$ r
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 8 L' x# `# ]. A0 n1 ^
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors & n0 d4 n/ n# Z1 [! S. I3 {0 |6 i
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ' f7 O, B- [# L* X9 O) i1 Q
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
