Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

. w( p0 c8 K# o* NPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
0 Q2 z, h7 u" g P" S· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
7 e1 J7 ?, D t* U( f2 d M· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
3 D" P& h* ~3 C8 ewith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 1 Z7 v M1 f) J0 ~$ r" S
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
7 w, t& ]' n' Z" ]- D5 A$ Oset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee + J/ G/ y0 M7 x0 J! S. i, y% N
/ r* J: L5 ]3 ]# o6 IDuties: Volunteer Coordination
, ?8 }7 f# k3 k( QAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 6 t* J! ?9 C. T9 h
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
$ C- a* k3 Q% |" E· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 5 n" x' z' y1 ?# F v9 E& {, m
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 0 `' r* Z$ i6 f. t& W! @( N- R
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers # ?. v6 N1 |% r% n: |* D6 J
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
" O3 n8 n' Q# \* y5 w0 N- K , P1 z+ V/ u! h7 D, r' o
Qualifications:
+ Y5 O. g0 w$ C' ]( b% D- i· Completion of 12th
, A! {8 D! A# s9 f: y Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
. [0 P4 f/ @: B- lAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ; M/ \: u% b8 W4 h
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct * }, P M( ~& K
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
% [! y) v+ A4 H }6 o W· Experience working with and managing volunteers
2 [; S c% Z; K% K( n3 M" K+ G· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
+ n) R# @ _ } X+ O S· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ( X( I3 ^- t' y5 U- R t
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

3 h1 r) Z" D# b& l' L9 zHours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
