Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special a8 Z F' O k$ w: j
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events 8 B+ O' |7 i, K, W! _
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
- s5 P0 e' A$ u· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
9 @( D6 ], ?$ V( r- o· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist & ~& z9 K; p' ?" b
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
! c9 I, h" R. D; {. |, C0 b4 b. qadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
4 ~ e! K6 b8 j" k/ O/ Hset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

$ Y9 u q% O& k" m/ s$ e( wAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 5 o4 S- G- e1 s
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions / ^) q* @) V7 o+ [! C
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ( d9 l# Y+ \8 X$ Y
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
$ C" |, \( k/ A t/ T/ P· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
! ~2 D+ N* B) ~* O· Complete program administration, statistics and records ! T' u Z# m1 R3 w+ k! [
; A9 u& E* H$ ]Qualifications: - L9 w$ T8 A% L- I! q& D( K
· Completion of 12th2 b# ?- }( g, `) a- l/ K
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
7 `0 R) C( |+ {) NAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. . _4 w8 e2 G9 @2 G/ A
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
0 M8 T( C' y! @2 j& U7 Sexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
! |, J% A: q& k4 G% ?. C" K· Experience working with and managing volunteers
/ V( k/ Z% B4 F+ P! g· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors * u7 O/ ^, W& C
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
; h8 n+ m% B7 t+ f" J# `2 s· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 2 v3 _0 B) p/ j3 ~7 j3 j( v
· Security Clearance 9 E" h. x7 ]; t6 S1 M

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications 5 p! O& K8 ^7 e: w
