Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 6 e9 \0 S/ [/ e8 X0 _6 g; S- D0 p
& u) |% W% a3 Q0 Z' A6 uDuties: Special Events
1 w0 c( J3 A" L7 m; G- [1 sPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
% a* P2 N& r/ U· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ' _5 N* Q- \$ Z- X% P+ e5 P! U2 l
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
. u# [0 P5 G: N! q3 d+ A# Qwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the ' T! L( a# X1 T2 |9 D
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ; p o' ^6 n. ?5 B5 h
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
' b* M! E9 X( h4 NAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
, y; [. B: @$ ]- ^4 _· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 4 B3 y- {) {# f
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
6 L1 x# y+ M* P2 ^/ V- K. e· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
% ^2 g# o1 S( J6 _5 J· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
) K# B/ z; V c8 q" ]· Complete program administration, statistics and records ; _2 u# k! K; M7 \" k
( Y( _6 u& S. ]6 }) j y0 I' M
Qualifications:
% ?# i3 U$ U/ A% z· Completion of 12th
! o5 s$ }3 F8 Y Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation j3 X T5 V7 z, ?+ @7 h) V
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
/ e# G7 ^, C" h2 O8 p! f· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
& v; z0 D* f `. rexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 3 p" D5 Y" R) e& K: |+ p
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
0 Q/ T9 u9 E, u. I/ b+ k* w6 R· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
/ Q, D; M4 H! {/ a" ?( J' W& v· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
" {- P7 w2 q. e0 y& |# q: `· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

3 b/ \% ]) a, I& O2 s, AWages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
