Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
( R1 M5 v) u* V# Z# D% {Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

. ?& h3 O$ ]/ W% z! O( wPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
4 T0 P* ?+ d$ q* k· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 5 b: u2 [3 s( V6 z; i
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ! ]3 G6 Y& ^8 S3 }! k$ S& n
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
( f* P' D/ Z1 [& b4 eadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
+ u, W2 U6 \" I1 E% C1 S$ fset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 3 r9 I" S, r( P9 }* g8 J+ N
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: / R$ `2 O% k6 p# F8 ?( T$ p
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions * l2 H% s* n6 |. I) E
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 1 K* `# C" ~9 s7 X0 d+ Y+ o
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers & C4 D& H/ F3 j! E! r0 f5 Q& R
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
+ i0 J" y& }. n3 |+ |0 t. u· Complete program administration, statistics and records # c4 V" J) \9 z( E* o. u
. B9 o8 o- P9 G2 d* I. BQualifications:
. _( I/ p4 U, ]/ p N# c1 _· Completion of 12th
7 x5 R: m6 \! ~1 T Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation $ z! L! F9 A8 Q; V
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. " S2 ]& A+ Y- q- Z! E% u
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
7 }, S7 L4 J& O$ ~experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ) h2 d5 ?" e* E
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
# d6 b. K/ M* y6 m· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors ( d9 l5 S8 M5 p0 N# T4 ^9 {# m
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work # d# O' h8 @# b, H
