: R3 |; g1 \7 ]" D9 g1 T6 R * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
! D9 F5 c5 q2 X* M/ k' o; } * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
9 |7 C8 o# T4 ~% L7 W * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps$ _5 D$ C- V) Z$ F. C
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations* }- j7 N! {; y9 I
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations+ d v$ b0 W) R8 f- g2 Z0 b

Qualifications
1 h/ C; ^) ?5 D$ T- Y
! _5 k/ V0 G9 p4 ]) i * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred$ j. M: [# ?( F q0 X7 O
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
& L0 c" ]. b1 r) p' r$ w2 x4 p * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers7 o% w' m+ C# F! q
* WHMIS training
: ~' H/ K/ E) W2 Z8 f- ^9 g) w2 w- J# L * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset9 C- J$ ?6 G9 N4 q. k: {1 i
