2 C1 L; i c; b9 R1 l" t * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory. V3 \2 _3 Y7 K% Q3 t: B
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
5 l4 m" ~) K! s4 J3 F * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps( w3 W2 L. m& t0 [! }
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
. k O5 D3 j2 Q3 |7 o, q * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations& @" T0 Z6 I$ d! o9 m
+ l% d- m' g' U8 `) B* RQualifications% U2 c- _/ I' F" Y
_9 g' w0 F2 E3 R, r * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
; |0 j* [) U6 c+ E: I% W a7 p * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation# ^/ w, J1 o/ B7 g/ s
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers; B: j s P: q5 u1 ]2 ^. y' C- {" ~
* WHMIS training
: o0 z* s- `% ^3 l * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
