Duties
* S9 L" a4 z( G( Z e
/ Z2 I' u' W7 L r * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
. {( L7 w* T+ s% y * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr* q" h3 e1 y$ s
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
, B6 ^ v% X4 ^ G h * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
% f% P" q4 G' P * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations
% p: y6 p& }% F. K+ ^
9 f2 w2 Z+ N* x) A0 DQualifications
' d: e# D, x0 u5 j# \5 b4 H
1 d7 Z6 S2 I( m1 H: G: z * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred9 Y5 s5 S. k' {6 k/ ]4 V
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation. f% S J( X* I! ]5 o5 m% f! O9 F
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers

! \8 v, c- I+ G( e * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
