Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. . M; P5 U9 p4 ^4 w: H, N1 V* x6 {

" S) P/ }1 N6 q% f L' BKey Responsibilities Include:
4 F! D' J4 L+ l! z! k% X" ?- LActivity Planning and Daily Activity
+ u8 p; D# k7 T. s• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.0 V A: J( a; q7 d
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. # |+ P4 B9 d3 y; t& m6 O& I- ]# J
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
9 Q+ q+ `( Y: \ o3 S4 p• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.' }* V8 t, r0 `* T: r, y9 F i
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.2 @- V" y* e+ j3 @0 {
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:0 C. K2 N& t" ~
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
1 j3 d/ T# F) h. z/ e T" W• Experience with children9 L4 B' h7 e* P* k8 {; [/ s% T, ?4 @
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 3 Z: U1 l; w# H/ T
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring. \7 Z% \5 h! E/ i- |2 t* w
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 4 U1 m+ l* y( ]; o6 w- N6 X( X6 O
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
