Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

% @8 }$ A, p, xKey Responsibilities Include:2 P' e- |9 t3 }7 j0 ?" ^* b
Activity Planning and Daily Activity! X* o ]! @/ N( }$ F
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.2 B9 u. b0 E! b2 T
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
# L$ n' G5 W9 l. C6 K• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, + }$ ?- k; g. \/ z+ E' I- P8 F/ g! d
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." _8 @6 K( f, F$ f
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.5 T0 a, \/ V- _" S: o2 Y
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.) f+ @% `) S/ r3 ?& r7 ~9 i

The successful candidate will have:
1 f( X1 e; J# {• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
9 K, `4 W% {. y0 d: j" t, F• Experience with children
, u& Q- B" d# q8 \3 C• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 2 X5 o7 A9 ]* i
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.' {+ X/ L0 K% b
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.( E3 c2 @6 S! U
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
& S# z! h. N/ P: x4 l; b( O/ y' f• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 0 ?. W; U1 V6 s; d3 A6 |
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
