Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff - ?! }; l& g8 e- K% h' Q
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)2 ]: X* A4 [& ?# e* G

Key Responsibilities Include:! Z& G% g( V4 f: b* L' a
Activity Planning and Daily Activity3 A2 `3 ^: w' ?: d% J& h" s9 W
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.9 T$ Z2 K) W+ O1 j
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
5 J! G; I- S" a# C8 O• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ! h& E% e0 v) e3 g* U$ u
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.( J$ i1 p( Z/ j5 e& H
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
; g. s5 R) _2 [% K• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.2 H7 m. l, Q# g: }( P& w: h

The successful candidate will have:
5 v9 m% S8 @6 B V# M• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting! k5 m7 |8 l! x$ r: w& L3 U
• Experience with children; b/ x- F/ d7 t6 X3 g
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth : }$ q, J2 X' L0 }& V
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
b" t6 ^9 s/ N$ p• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
8 l9 D# Q5 p3 X. ?- Z" }4 L• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
7 ~5 H" Q* N" o/ ~0 E• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
) A9 w% R2 G) m. o( @• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
