Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. ! d9 g" }: Q3 P8 y1 ?

Key Responsibilities Include:& M9 w( ]5 N. Z; [8 P% M$ t
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
$ Y$ N! K) j7 }• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
# H: B: R! s) J5 a8 Y* ?3 U• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ! T1 _9 m2 L& u6 k
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, A2 U. n: W, p- C' e
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
1 x$ j. g$ u8 S f% o• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.. E, @$ R5 _' V
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
' w1 w; o( B$ v7 c" a' t7 ~. M: w' C" t• Experience with children3 `/ C4 b, e4 [+ o, P
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 4 x) H' r: g% x! X9 N7 V# e
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.8 r- K$ {9 k, S) ]
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
/ Q) d, s* ^' B# d" m' n• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
- v: Y2 }- U8 z/ h" d7 R( z• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check - x i" {& T, G% s6 ^, `
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
