Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. + a8 T& [. O# J* q$ y- V) C# h* z

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff $ P& ]" m3 J+ j5 w" g6 \
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)+ ~" w: x* Z' f- ~
# E# ]! g l" r/ d6 qKey Responsibilities Include:
: v& E5 ] y& W' BActivity Planning and Daily Activity
9 [) M5 W7 |9 L. ] k. X5 P# i• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.* h1 ^# u/ ^6 p1 O; L1 J
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
6 J( ]4 m/ ^1 C5 S! X• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
* ]+ a( |* h. i6 l& R K& q/ G• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.+ A# b; }4 `6 B
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
1 Q$ P: c& y. j' B• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

* B1 x! ~, P! b5 VThe successful candidate will have:
6 Q% ?$ ~0 \- t x7 e3 J9 T2 R• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting6 z0 m& \/ w- l' o% l
• Experience with children
' c+ q4 X I; x# ]• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
; _* K% }2 X6 A6 b0 _6 ]• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
8 J* M. ~7 J. x0 O1 \- l• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.# }" s6 |+ L- y. s5 I- i
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
9 x3 G' |! @ s D• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
5 s0 I/ ~# q6 Q) A• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
