Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
0 }7 l' p6 z8 BActivity Planning and Daily Activity
% Y2 H  I  v2 K$ t•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
: ], l& e* T3 Z* `( [7 ?/ X•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
0 ~, Q7 N. B% O# `4 ?# C•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
0 b; k3 L2 K  U, y2 W8 M$ t; Q•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
+ @8 b, S7 K: \) d* w4 j6 U( a) D•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
- Q+ `/ C  ^" I* R' W6 J0 |•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
0 \8 p, [' g* h6 F8 g) i. ~5 V/ O•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
