Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

; e0 d: z/ y5 l" GActivity Planning and Daily Activity8 x/ c7 S4 V; N8 V* x
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.% [3 ^& k& H- S% @
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
! g6 B4 b2 Z' K/ } l7 e5 E' h6 ~; S• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ; x" i- @( d6 O; \
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.: C4 ?; D/ x' E- ^. x- i
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
, g2 _6 @* x. d8 c• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting1 o: h: @2 Z* R' m6 h: b/ V0 t) V
• Experience with children0 K \2 @3 G W
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
+ J& B8 ]2 w2 J ~• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.0 Z0 Z" X. m) C
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 1 z* C2 M" g$ f4 T7 R6 `& J
