+ T7 u# O2 R: T8 xBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 7 r) [% i8 P! j" v
/ M! S2 n8 T* e) ` u% E2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

H1 q5 R' y0 ?Key Responsibilities Include
. m m1 o; p `0 i* _4 M: C6 U; [Activity Planning and Daily Activity# e# _" e0 @+ o# m9 W
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
7 ~6 }9 C. l" @$ N% @• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
8 e3 A( _# m/ n• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 0 S- v- Z! k5 r6 U5 B, m# ?' ?) {
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
7 J. E% z, ^ D/ o* }• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
8 S8 G; I& I- H' b, K6 y s# H• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:3 \1 X8 Y$ W5 T) K& L
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting# j1 p. B5 d1 v! I8 {
• Experience with children
P3 w& o" @3 U6 a• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
5 Q0 L# u/ ?* q" T+ h• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
, O3 v7 M9 ]8 ^: V) k• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.1 c# h2 n5 _7 R( m; V
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
