A% g3 w. S% ^6 p1 Z- l" mBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. + [+ x3 g* Q$ b0 o

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students 8 n/ [$ q) h: e* m8 I. L5 G/ x! m# g/ g
(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school), t7 j8 {! U* p# `+ E8 |& P
& Z* A7 `! g# x- m9 O5 JKey Responsibilities Include
8 a+ u4 j# L0 yActivity Planning and Daily Activity
4 n' M8 `! _- h8 @7 { w• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.# ?4 j8 Z' J* R
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 9 X3 ] U9 E, Y) k
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
9 Y+ w7 H4 w$ F1 _6 |# a9 h• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." ]9 B% a, q9 v5 ]5 O" a6 R
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.! r7 K: p; B$ Z- r
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
* E! Y9 e5 R0 Q V• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
/ g I3 d# E+ `• Experience with children
4 [# i6 ?, g, H" Q1 m; Y# Y+ F- S* ?• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth # h! H4 ~: g8 J
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring. J( @: G0 s3 E, L) C( O
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

7 Y7 Q1 z5 a* e+ s9 b; P• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check ( U4 E6 @: E2 [ ^. L
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
