Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. $ Q0 x: T9 M b9 E2 T7 u" y

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
0 }7 l' p6 z8 BActivity Planning and Daily Activity
% Y2 H I v2 K$ t• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.6 C7 x3 _5 y# \. | T# i
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
: ], l& e* T3 Z* `( [7 ?/ X• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
0 ~, Q7 N. B% O# `4 ?# C• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.2 {! X3 v) q' | A4 f- w* g
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
0 b; k3 L2 K U, y2 W8 M$ t; Q• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.* Z v7 w, U2 j

The successful candidate will have:
+ @8 b, S7 K: \) d* w4 j6 U( a) D• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
- Q+ `/ C ^" I* R' W6 J0 |• Experience with children0 `* e3 W O1 Q8 Y9 U
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth " k7 r2 Z4 W& c8 E9 v& y2 H8 _
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.! g3 k) ^0 r! t8 T7 s! c# f* s9 x3 |
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
