FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 8 `9 f# E0 B8 T: t" W
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 u' r+ @: ^ _; ?
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
. o0 U/ {7 s* G) ~2 q3 ]! iand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 {1 M Y$ t! u. X& ~" D' H0 E
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and * b: Y8 b! I$ V4 v- T8 y$ N1 d8 `9 L
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

; O" n) O: F% K3 x4 u5 E/ xJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
% |0 P3 N- H t. ^+ mFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 6 l+ d+ {/ ]5 G; E! e m
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
1 [ U5 a" s& D/ U% _. G- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library * G6 O3 \/ y5 ^% U) Z- c2 [
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 5 i0 i& s( T- a6 g
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- ]: ^0 y5 Y. E0 _3 {9 p) d- L- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ) m, a# i' o; g a( B) l' ^9 D% t
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable * d, @3 D Q* J' f' _5 q! o

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-$ U& S" K1 P, n" B. U) o* Y R9 `
secondary training, university preferred
$ e J9 E* Q' o' D" M- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 0 N( [+ {0 X& x$ T8 G( ~4 X v
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) b7 b4 W8 s9 C6 j; c1 f
- Strong organizational skills - s/ G1 L" q' ^9 g: H- P8 z0 [% {
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
