FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the & z s" A0 [1 {5 X7 l( e' b
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 3 ~8 Y; |/ p- T( m A/ V
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern + Y. B3 X, z- K
Alberta.

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

9 y, L8 g0 ^& ZJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 2 e/ V9 @ i' o7 _) ^
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 8 @9 i% n, [6 w; u. {5 [( A$ \& O
well as the script, magazine and book library. ! k0 W- A; f) `1 T) o
% I* n& H) x- V! x! Z8 kDuties:
8 Z( |1 h4 T$ ^8 P# X- e8 I" ^& q6 h& B- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- U5 a# Q* ^9 @& `# h7 E' _7 r- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
% }- \1 \5 @% i. x3 P6 H) U- Implement a catalogue template for future use
0 W- c( Q; T7 o- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ' L3 T# E% p. f4 V
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable # Z/ g( N" N; C4 U' U" T5 }

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week % ]" y* Y+ d2 Q
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred - W" C) P% L( T4 q8 w4 `- r& x
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 1 w8 }) W2 X9 A* @4 R+ u! \
- Strong team player abilities
1 e! Z/ P) i) }' x1 t0 c- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
