FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the ' f! s' R+ \4 ^7 c Y3 M$ v+ W
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 1 x. c# j9 f8 w
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
' r- ]4 [1 x1 S3 f/ ?Alberta. % Z4 \1 W1 x' g/ @6 o, Q3 R
& P7 ~9 ]/ j) b; N; `FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
7 p% Y$ G& i1 x, M: o# s7 Iemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 \% d8 H7 T% S( }
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
, e6 `- g% N! W) y1 i5 m6 VFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
7 |8 ]4 I1 h7 A' ^; @* b8 `well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 B- {( T' u, I' w0 c
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
* y% ^/ \6 U" u9 Y/ p# e0 J; a5 C- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- J1 n! a! t) i8 J7 n- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 8 b1 [6 w7 g$ m/ C
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! O3 ~+ P) Y+ `2 n# O% V/ H
- Strong organizational skills ) U; m* S [: k s
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred h8 a) @! V3 I$ S+ u& y
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
