) Y, E9 g/ u1 N* w' iFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 9 ^( |- H7 n E, E+ F
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

, `7 b: O( g4 |# O+ FFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a . |( I: J# _' S+ U- U$ A
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) X2 e5 \# U* [3 [

Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
8 M! |' U8 {( N" Uassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.
) q* Q+ K! y. }+ J 1 Z3 l; O% z5 V/ ^3 n( b
Duties: 2 I6 L U9 n4 y. G; ~. }& g
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
7 ^3 ^( C1 `) S7 D4 H$ t0 R+ ^% C4 w- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ' \7 |% e# Y) h9 F/ v, e
- Assist with equipment maintenance
0 K- X0 R9 b H8 S- Assist with production logistics for programming events 1 m- I3 E( G0 B6 s; l
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
4 V3 i& Z3 W6 Z9 _6 f- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 6 p+ D/ p7 q: f
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
5 S, \, u; ~- m& l- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ' q2 Z) x: W: m" i+ G# H
- Advance organizational and research skills * \9 x4 |0 |5 ^$ {) u0 x5 T- X
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 7 z6 J! t' f( R2 i* C1 { u6 e# b. Q- e
- Strong team player abilities
