FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ; |2 o, _) A+ A3 N; a- X1 e
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
! N, v+ a9 j0 \( y/ `! t {artists from Northern Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" J L' Q' s5 r5 B" k; Y) E7 ?and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

3 O& z+ T' i: a; n6 G8 WJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
( q$ q% m1 n, t; E$ NDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
/ m) l% E+ a. H; k5 e6 Cassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 7 d2 t) o# T! W) d" V2 a; C3 A& `7 `2 C

Duties:
9 U; |; s( s& y, N; t7 y- Assist with research on acquisition grants
% @5 j4 E8 H3 X- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
/ @1 V) i! v, {4 I" O7 K- Assist with equipment maintenance
/ y0 x6 ?! {3 y- Assist with production logistics for programming events
) O$ V$ {5 l6 d- a/ Q I# }- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

secondary training

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: . h f. j# p7 m8 ?& U
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
. e X# f$ y6 b, ]- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 6 ~4 C; S7 F' W! W0 d8 L
- Advance organizational and research skills 2 B8 ^9 Q# ?! v* ]' U) w; z7 S4 q
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
% y% ]* c) w8 O; z5 i( I- Strong team player abilities
9 S. X5 d. o; ]: R* x- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors - w; R" l N/ P
