FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 5 f2 C" W; S. C" ^3 W& X
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video - N* h1 u: a5 z( C, J+ v; q
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
. R& p, t, Y8 t& t; Q$ Sresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
+ F4 z# s# O3 P' ]- K7 Nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern , W8 L1 E( t7 l' D9 x3 h

Q3 d) g% V3 d3 `6 A5 OJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive ) y& Z- a' I x2 X7 x: ~
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 8 w8 G% v# ]0 L4 ]+ j: O/ l% a
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ l' ?, y }+ h- [7 h- Assist with research on acquisition grants
* l D. ~' c3 ]0 ?- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
9 o' \4 g# _. l& e- Assist with equipment maintenance ( k; J% C% f' N4 K, A2 S
- Assist with production logistics for programming events * X! E I& c/ @+ ~, E, X2 _4 R
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ( y. n {' Z+ B8 Q0 \4 B) `* f
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- C; Z$ j c/ o q9 Q1 a; c+ b- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
2 h" X. p- U$ `: x3 L" G' `+ W0 [- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
/ C8 o0 p1 e$ `$ }. T6 H4 P& r6 ?1 c- Advance organizational and research skills , ~ j) d8 H' X* i
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD 0 E- m$ Y$ s+ p% H
- Strong team player abilities
