FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization % n# l Y, W- ~6 {' s0 J' M
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media $ R# t- p3 H" P8 m7 W
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 7 p' b5 W* ]0 I# x
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
- _* \9 `- Y( U3 B3 ]; KDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
. _# c% p, Y: y0 p$ Yassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

- Assist with research on acquisition grants N+ v7 a/ ?5 f" K0 h
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ( y; o2 Z' ]2 Q$ o" J. ]: U
- Assist with equipment maintenance
8 {; ^2 T1 z7 U- Assist with production logistics for programming events 9 `/ S4 _+ ?) G1 n+ Q
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 0 T, @7 _# U4 G; Q* j
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable I5 [( y. v$ C% Y7 m9 A

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ) a* x2 D4 ^, r$ e& ^$ R
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 5 f# X$ N( c# a
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 1 G4 }) H7 N0 u3 L6 C1 b; w# F
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
9 J8 G0 o$ L8 o5 A. Y- e; Y/ s- Advance organizational and research skills
1 I# P, Z" o+ R- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
8 A- P5 i) @& d) r. C; X* b* x& _/ c* w- Strong team player abilities
+ Q7 Q5 Q# x+ m' D* M$ q- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
