Position title: Community Development Worker
% j0 n* T( ]7 o( D% F: yTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
9 w* ^/ x7 T9 s' cJob Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
: |  ]' x2 _: \1 V-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
. p& q0 N% y0 W! C5 `/ s        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
* Q) R5 {- m2 e# x, ]7 b- x, E        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
- ]& A; z6 z% t9 E1 O  C0 R6 ^6 O-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
9 X: T0 n' L6 r4 c# F, h-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
# o& Q) @1 a8 D1 e1 `8 t% Z, B/ U-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

0 r6 p5 O2 A4 t' z' C-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
6 h) h/ y/ O; i8 y* w5 f0 d+ d9 Q$ P        experience and education
7 l" _$ w; @8 q; `-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
& j. ]6 P& [% f1 h9 H% w-        experience in community work and immigrant services
* }0 X) U. N& [4 Z-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
