Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
2 {3 L& Y' P! P& i+ a( I; v/ l-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
5 s& F, C8 i* I6 A-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
9 Z" N( |4 X& k0 J# ?$ o: _-        update ASSIST website
& H$ m  E: O8 [- V! S; s9 j-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
" ?7 v, M5 p1 x- k5 d$ E-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
; r8 q8 w4 i! D% N! k+ W        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ u$ |2 J3 J" l: L-        experience in community work and immigrant services
5 Z0 ?" V* u. w/ J9 x% _7 l8 O-        experience in website update/design
; O3 ]9 n- N/ W# }* m; s  f-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
