7 ?8 N. d% T I: J! V; ` T * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications5 x" U) L* u- l& p/ j( I1 {; D
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis; z" L3 M: G) o; J6 t& Z" k) d p
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
0 {" G. n' a4 ?% v, V * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
# A" B" y' n5 N" B, Z * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies, C; B A6 z7 z6 P
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs' m' _" \5 N+ M+ \7 \6 u# X2 y
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
