* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications& Q& T( S% W( N
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
p7 t' g; y: C4 g5 j% c * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
4 s$ m) ~- ], K8 _ * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students ' Q1 r4 D$ G6 \9 m' ]
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
