& L4 |% `+ @/ C2 Z n4 z% } * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
. S" V" U$ l8 S3 y) _! F. E4 p * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
9 J! {$ F$ a% R% T# n2 }5 {9 z * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
/ \8 W5 U: X, Q * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
' o& t) K$ Q; K4 U7 O * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies. * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs1 x2 q7 \. ~5 d# m* n2 N; v
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment B8 K: ]$ ~" l/ @& z+ ]8 P9 X

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
