1 m0 Y: ]/ } y9 T: ^ * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications7 @) \* D7 v* D8 l: O
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
7 W2 i$ r4 {) z6 j8 s * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
( c/ V' A' M/ ~ * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
* I' L0 C& }$ ] * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
1 R( D2 W; c' m/ k( A) C( t4 o * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
* z- R& W# o6 e9 d' F7 V * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
