Duties
; B" n9 b; V" N, r& p* {3 Y( K6 O# D) Y
* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
! _! }* Y/ k7 k4 C$ _ * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis+ S' ]5 ^" ?9 C$ ?4 W
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance" V; E4 @8 g( G/ U" u* k
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
0 ?/ f% H+ \- C& C) F * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

% [/ V$ g, J- ?( J' [ * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required1 W4 ]0 N4 j5 S; F/ `% G
