Position: Manager, Counselling Centre / Terms: full time position reporting to E.D. / Salary: based on education & experience / Closing Date: 04.10.09.

Responsibilities - Human Resources Management: supervise a qualified counselling team/oversee their peer supervision system; manage hiring, training & supervision of department staff, volunteers & student interns; provide training opportunities to department staff; supervise/evaluation department staff./ g2 D* }+ @7 R# d0 [
+ `- G3 F! b% _4 N, S. t; H4 ~
PLUS: ensure adequate levels of staffing are maintained, in order to meet requirements for delivery of services; conduct regular staff meetings; ensure proper flow and documentation of information; ensure Human Resources Policies & Procedures are met and followed.

$ T* z$ S1 M: oResponsibilities - Finance & Administration: develop and implement annual goals and program objectives; monitor annual department budgets; review monthly financial statement and account for variances; prepare annual applications and budget proposals for funders in collaboration with the Fund Development Manager; ensure program standards and procedures reflect the YWCA's and funders' requirements.3 E" Z5 k) h8 e6 R, q

: B/ X/ u7 v* V1 o$ bPLUS: submit monthly, semi-annual/annual reports to funders, as required; ensure proper & complete documentation is maintained for all clients, staff and program files; prepare a monthly departmental report for the E.D.; generate and manage a feedback system/databases to obtain data on client service.

4 a: T& U* C$ }7 G& ]Community Relations and Advocacy: create and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders; promote the Counselling Centre's programs and services./ e* {+ E- ~2 r) F

# Y" ]# A& A- k/ sQualifications: at least 5 years successful experience at a senior management level with a nonprofit agency; post-secondary education in Psychology or a related field; extensive knowledge of the counselling process; must have a working knowledge of the legal issues involved in counselling, especially those relating to the area of family violence. 4 ~1 `* h% C- J# A7 |$ v

  y  \  \% r! |3 m2 N) }In addition: excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experienced in budgeting, program delivery, and supervising staff; ability to interact in a positive manner with a diverse population; experience and proficiency in MS Office; equivalences will be considered..
