This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and/ j) Q5 ^1 t) m6 E% X' d* D
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
+ n" q$ U4 g% w# f. d- T• Standard Child Care First Aid+ d7 ^1 i# ?. W/ @" ~, _# P2 b
• WHMIS* z6 h2 ^. _% @8 X; c# O
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care% J! L, c& n& [& @- v
• Components to improve communication skills6 A% S _$ d7 ]
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria7 t' }' {' G- J8 y
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
) O6 |. Q9 k) eof Canada
+ h! S, x' ~0 l• have a Social Insurance Number
( J1 ]; @+ q! E0 R7 I" h• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check$ E! D, B- b% b7 T/ C* z9 y# V# p4 j
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent0 d5 c; `# h# X% f. |
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time$ A3 R- f+ O" T' X5 l1 y

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
U8 T; E1 [8 V5 F! C) V) Y" J; }/ fthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:& U: h o1 _1 G3 |3 d+ i3 H
• be unemployed or underemployed.1 [2 v- V& P' F* @1 P5 E( ]
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
