A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
{5 ^ }! H( a) @3 }. t• Standard Child Care First Aid
7 h+ }/ x3 W2 L& `1 n• WHMIS
! W4 |* y4 ^, f$ @. G9 U• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care1 G1 j, V6 O7 E4 P M5 t5 V& E
• Components to improve communication skills1 E# E% `$ `8 B" y/ j: S) S% C
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search
; O% j) u% s' E: Z$ b8 A5 A• Practicum Placements- p9 E: ], `/ R0 \" F; T3 [/ C
Eligibility Criteria
/ j! G7 q; V; w3 H• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
' J% [) ~9 |& N0 u+ ]2 V2 d# lof Canada
' A' G% Y1 m" M0 @• have a Social Insurance Number- w. P5 ]! f# f6 w
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
# O. W5 E; ~/ _+ d• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent( T1 ~, V7 c& @1 w( _
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

# K8 L4 m+ D4 i$ `: Q/ oParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
: r. V: o% d: }8 }the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
! _: M P( U! F, o/ m F! e• be unemployed or underemployed.
1 u# h V' W# d+ n0 ]They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
