A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.$ S5 }8 _1 n! r4 T0 |& I2 P& j! L& B
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
0 N) p- ?9 t1 M& C7 Jknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
; m+ ^: J+ y* G. \1 m$ J; m+ Z0 [• Standard Child Care First Aid1 J9 ^4 }! ~+ @5 D5 ]* W
• WHMIS7 _ X6 `3 |9 p% V4 P7 j
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
5 _$ Y q4 u& w8 j• Components to improve communication skills( @& K7 j. t' c6 t
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search/ Z6 ^# Y$ t. {
• Practicum Placements

( [6 r1 \) u3 J2 S1 L1 A9 c• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
4 ~% w* N5 L) M R$ ~+ ^of Canada
1 k1 d- y; e" S: |# x• have a Social Insurance Number
% F/ ]8 a `+ x5 V# c) G• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
7 ?" I0 C5 }- ]9 X) X• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent) l2 p& f& T3 Y$ \+ S( q& v) c
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

5 _$ i& e4 d: G0 Z* K: z& TParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
& i% H6 Q5 ^8 ethe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:; N6 o- R" V, m0 x9 T
• be unemployed or underemployed.' ~; K2 ^+ a6 \3 M
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course t. [: z* A8 y0 ?* T( N
