This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and

The program includes the following elements:* W# M0 c M2 X$ Q
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
0 E' n3 ?6 J$ G2 g5 o) M9 J; `• Standard Child Care First Aid
3 x; b4 j/ u" M; A. b- K$ I! j• WHMIS
& a# t- M) {* o8 V• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care7 ?8 b3 \% H! G! x" `& ~" X
• Components to improve communication skills
8 v- n' g* ]7 z8 _0 t# l• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search; S- _% s/ ~6 e6 B: D% o
• Practicum Placements- X; ^* _$ {0 f/ f( u6 O
Eligibility Criteria
5 X- z8 E3 t* Z* i• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen" z+ V2 S6 C) ]. m% q) _
of Canada
$ Q2 r1 |( }2 P• have a Social Insurance Number; u4 d! y! a: e
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
6 J7 M1 ^2 V& I3 h0 c! O• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
: ~0 q, d% e7 x• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

, K, ]* ?, c, P+ ZParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet8 x& a4 z8 u% k% B4 w+ E. k5 _) R

• be unemployed or underemployed.0 e4 C2 t9 V, Y/ Y: y# F. @- a. j' w
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course p7 l7 V' D6 z8 |
