A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.5 y. h5 G' F6 I! W
The program includes the following elements:. w7 o( ?7 y- `( n! A3 \; w# h
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
; x7 I6 o: q! s# g( }) W) D• Standard Child Care First Aid
' K/ x9 f3 `+ R7 x$ j% ]$ p" X• WHMIS* N$ G( \0 `" l. B- Q" u% Q3 J
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
. T. _8 o: ^, ]& Z' D1 t- F; g* G {• Components to improve communication skills
y9 b$ f1 ?- S2 K$ [1 Q• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search% @" F# ~7 b' B- ~* t

Eligibility Criteria6 w+ ]0 R% P! |: R8 ^- b x
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
1 ]7 G5 ^& D9 L4 q6 N, o/ f, cof Canada7 X0 b/ {/ e) t/ K! S9 m0 S
• have a Social Insurance Number
I& E8 b1 M7 f• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
8 r. y4 I6 O7 J3 S2 A• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
9 M0 z" h$ e W• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time: h% I; [8 \7 ?( [+ s% t* L2 k7 X& a
program7 u$ u7 I5 B: A4 Y# @( P8 |5 q
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
8 i( }2 I/ Y5 g7 K: ]the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
, x* T) j/ R: g* {, w: \- \$ p• be unemployed or underemployed.
! ?1 K: e8 o/ u/ w4 t' pThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
