                cannot be moved, turn on the hazard lights. Turn off the

Step2.        Determine if anyone is injured. Do not move an injured person.

                Report any injuries.

* \& x; J0 M" `* q4 `7 H+ v# m                and license plate number; the driver’s name, address and license
                number; and the name of his or her insurance company. If the
- u9 m7 W8 ]0 B+ q! f9 m7 g                driver does not own the car, get the name of the car’s owner.
5 l) s' Z1 |( l; i; ^& M3 ?8 V                Write down names and addresses of other passengers or
5 m, _& e' D2 {0 Y                witnesses. If you have a camera take pictures of the accident

Step5.        The police officer will give you a copy of the collision report.

# M- g/ |& ?  r. }3 Z; t* UStep6.        Cooperate with the police, but do not admit guilt for the
, h! u9 `  X% S9 a7 ?                accident in any way. You may be required to show proof of
                insurance, but do not reveal how much coverage you have.

, o+ d% }% s/ r/ D9 DStep7.        Do not accept any money the other driver may offer. By
                accepting money, you may give up your right to file a claim

; w$ @9 W8 c# O- kStep8.        Do not agree to forget about a minor accident. You may see
                later that there were hidden damages or injuries. The other
1 b* ?! V* v; h. S6 T+ ]" t                person may even file a lawsuit against you.

Step9.        Write an account of what happened: time of day, weather,
& Y9 Z/ G# x6 P2 Z; N7 V0 q                hazards, road conditions and driving speed. Draw a picture of
4 A5 E4 y9 t2 [3 e8 d8 y                the site, showing stop signs, signal lights, etc. Try to measure
                skid marks and determine the point of impact. Note any damage
                already on other cars involved. If a camera is available, take
                pictures of the accident.

Step10.    Report the accident to your insurance agent or insurance
7 {: w. `2 {$ A                company as soon as possible. Call a lawyer Bruce King, to discuss
