In the first incident, a 30-year-old man is dead in what police are calling a "gang motivated" shooting near Whitemud Drive, the Edmonton Police Service said in a press release.

1 man dead in stabbing
7 d$ [# G! S( u5 i9 qMeanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.) l& j2 f" L6 E. P

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

9 h! A9 Q$ K2 F! `Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.0 g8 o% @, e8 g& C/ a

' p, b z, n1 A! \' NA police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.
