Duties
2 D. ]: n. F+ P# S! Q0 b4 z. M, E9 Z# l& d. t: z' A* e" B& [* s/ z* y
    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
' G- l3 w. K9 E/ o1 f- J0 r' p8 i    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
! m2 T- x  o" {+ E    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes$ l3 S2 ]6 ~# z7 ^% }3 A- b/ N
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat" `$ \  A9 L% ^( @* d
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
/ e: i9 u9 k  A2 L0 w    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements$ u1 `& G/ D! w7 Q1 b
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
4 N# k' k, A- a" R; H: s( O    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
! n' B$ W7 B: L0 s    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
1 P: _- u0 ]) Y, J8 B! P' q( D    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
4 b, s! o1 u" y+ z6 r8 x9 V' B    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media; ?3 u) t  {8 c. A
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
, v% m" h6 O& V3 k% |& b% j    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies" J2 d+ ?: X# y, G. A

Qualifications! ~) E4 U: h9 g/ @
) p1 u- q" g& i8 S# z$ }3 m
    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
+ k7 h6 v; T4 e! ~" @, R0 R2 G1 n    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth' J; B5 g- C% k# j
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
3 J9 X# x& D  _$ w0 T    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies& Z+ s: g# X! ]9 B" x* N3 j
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
; H8 Q1 h% F) N    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
- }8 u: z: D- t+ q) k# F$ X1 _: q    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
9 I$ h6 s+ V; k9 j1 y5 J% Z    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
