Duties

7 ?* A3 ]& S: E* {: x * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program1 F/ g* p; N) \0 U3 L7 c# a( s
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities$ I6 O1 N, s# X+ C; A2 ^4 F( B
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
5 h# _( z$ `3 n' e* g( _% S * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
. G% m' ~4 U9 c( e# S" Z * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders3 U* a2 E5 r1 h, e' g8 A1 j t
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
. q0 M$ \6 J9 S9 w * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs2 B) `4 l. [5 Q3 }6 _2 Q' A
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director1 Y! x1 Q: ~ {6 d
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications$ Y( L- K; k* I- }- r- q

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
; s. M; E" j! D, \2 s" e( K * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
& d+ x8 ]6 G1 x) z1 c* L8 A * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset- n5 g" m1 H# ~4 E$ y, z
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies4 l# q% y' n4 F+ I' J _8 k
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
9 A1 ?! q5 B: z * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
. h5 D, \4 t$ o9 k, l * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
