* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
/ ^% {, o( T* T * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities" l' {9 ^* Y; M$ p! u& J# V
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes" B$ }/ C' c" [ B2 [: |/ e7 f, T
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat' u% f, {$ e7 {7 C# m4 |, m
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders2 d. f& t# _8 B* H# g0 z! @7 o
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements" x, x# ?% G- j6 _
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs+ v. }2 d1 u5 o2 P1 {
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
9 c7 H8 X1 c1 X K7 r' H6 U0 i& | * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth# @# `) m0 B9 H5 J5 ^: y9 H
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset$ ]. p. r2 D. b5 a( n( Z2 N* y6 k
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies! W+ c$ D+ }* u7 W
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills. f/ D4 D8 p* b; G3 k5 ?+ G: Q
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning5 o$ V$ S. b# [
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation), `0 i+ p' b; w2 V1 b, o
