* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
/ t2 @- R9 ^% T' V * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities! V1 U/ G v2 h, |
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
3 A/ ]7 _& m3 P9 ]" N5 \ * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
* X; Y8 R% i+ F. u * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders; s8 ~2 R7 J% k1 \/ x7 o k) `
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements

* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies' f+ E# D" V2 t( L6 |* G1 X

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
5 ^' [5 A: l7 s- \7 F/ |; T: x * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth3 D0 g! @3 x# C3 ^& U) \' S5 F$ ~
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset f5 {1 p) L; K0 {& y; k
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
9 R- `' V. J* ?/ H * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
& a2 W: G7 a, q& E8 M * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning9 _" S' o6 t3 _
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
