& ?$ O) b( J  \5 |4 u    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
* I1 b) @& G. Q% L, n( y    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
/ ^5 J- j3 y# {8 h( ^7 e* k    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
/ U! Z/ v! m7 y; L% h1 r5 r  F) F    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
9 p3 k) I) Q# q4 \0 ~    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director5 \* D7 H7 }/ Y+ t
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses6 m& w. t! T, ~( [8 p: O
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth$ z4 b3 U) n7 v2 ?
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program! f$ I2 _9 I. U- T
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment! L5 J+ Z) K* x' l- P5 @3 q
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports: M/ P2 M# s8 R8 k
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs! p4 @! o& q; w$ l9 X4 e0 X$ v+ X( X
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly2 @% j0 N8 |6 ]: i: @
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities% w  _/ o  j2 J4 a' K8 r
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications. S) f) G& U: K5 ~6 M! G) T

4 R1 F, e3 ^) d* X    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
/ v! @& J' @3 Q2 g$ R    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth" g# f  \' r* a; B8 j
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
$ o) I0 [$ l3 |5 Q9 Y9 Y    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
* l9 o7 H  S3 ]    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
6 G6 M3 o( x; o1 d& ]9 y5 o# v0 U) A! Q, l    * Fundraising skills an asset9 ]: h" B' n8 z/ R" i  L
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills# O; C4 d. p5 N
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
