7 ]7 P; z' ]4 O4 R+ r! t0 ]Position Abstract: as a community organizer you will be responsible for providing training to residents of an inner city community who are actively involved in creating strategies for a healthier neighbourhood. Working towards ensuring wide participation by residents/organizations in the local community you will assist in reinforcing inclusivity.

PLUS: a capable advocate for alternative dispute resolution, you will liaise between the community and elected officials/municipal administration, assisting in the development of a strong working relationship between these groups. 8 g$ z- W% ~$ l2 c {7 Z. X

Education & Experience: the position calls for an individual with education in the humanities or related field + 2 years experience in the field of community organizing. Special interest in ecological literacy and sustainable communities will be an asset. * K2 A4 [) I9 B
( B6 W! l5 P0 @& L# @. JOther Skills: the successful candidate will have a strong background in building group capacity & seeing projects through to completion. There is a significant element of research and an opportunity for creativity in assisting residents to address community challenges. Working in a non profit environment will mean that experience in sourcing/writing grant proposals is an asset.
