Enhanced Respite Program

The YWCA Edmonton Family Services program is
* c& ~, ] K! {# u; \% e: ]' S6 V5 u; r+ \recruiting for community support workers in the
% ^) j7 ^- b+ p( ^$ N% `% hCoordinated Enhanced Respite program at a variety of
6 c# ]2 H" i9 vlocations in the city.
9 i8 o" I/ ]4 J6 c$ J- @* [Staff would provide respite care to parents or primary% Q& g/ k8 i4 p8 ?: }# o
care givers of children with moderate to severe physical
( Q: |* J) c" K3 v4 sor cognitive developmental disabilities for shifts of three5 R+ j- i8 e0 T' ]
(3) or more hours per day worked. During the school0 V" R) V ~* N1 \" X
year, as the children are in school during the day, the, c6 X: K* O8 ^ O6 g* f- z& ^
bulk of the hours available will be late afternoons and
/ w5 \: u [+ @' |/ Eevenings or on weekends.
( \, r( z& X. E" t, z2 XHowever, during the summer months, there will be3 \1 M# K" J7 K6 p6 j8 s
extended hours available during weekdays while/ S# }' G( I5 Z. ^: x
children are out of school.

• a minimum of six months experience in working

2 M1 `- H& W$ j* t! p# P8 tdisabilities (this could include volunteer work)
; `4 }$ w' r9 {8 N' _8 t8 k5 E* o• the ability to support the clients with all aspects
' D+ e( w4 G& f% gof community inclusion' P9 A ~2 ~0 A8 ^' M0 F; A
• Standard First Aide with Level C CPR
