Idioms----I learned some idioms and made some sentence. Who can guess the meanin

He quit his job as soon as he  got an interview with a publishing company.. He really jumped the gun.8 j3 Z, j; Q' l+ i; C8 v6 [( K
His wife saw he having lunch with a female client in a restaurant, she jumped the gun and accused him of having an affair.
4 z7 C5 ~# s: zHold your horses, otherwise you may make a mistake.
" A. e$ h' _( y% L! c, P! ?1 i5 xYou won’t get burned by choosing our product.
% _3 @$ p  V* L5 PHe wants to have his cake and eat it, but there is no doubt that he won’t be successful without hard working.8 X9 S4 z1 S; p
They were supposed to win, but Jim blew it. Eventually they took second place in the game..
. v  A1 Q' D4 p+ W1 `* K& MMy goodness! We have to be back to square one because we get the wrong direction.
& m" x2 X8 {3 LThe method you used in your work is off base, I hope you have your job redone.

About one year ago I met a girl in university, I slept with her after our first date, we really jumped the gun and had a good time as well. However, when I proposed to her, she said, "Hold your horses", it turned out she was married! Obviously, I would get burned if her husband knew about our affair, so I told her explicitly, "You can't be married and single, you can't have your cake and eat it, too!",  I was very upset, coz I was expecting a serious relationship, but she blew it! She had a family, she even had a son, she just cheated on me, that is way off base! After I broke up with her, I have to be back to square one and look for a new relationship.

mostly good, but I don't think the "get burned" and "blew it" is used properly here.

I tried to apply all of these idioms to my story,  I believe each of them fits well. 7 g) K+ N5 o- h) u& a6 S; m! P; n

Hold your horses: to be patient/ r0 h, ~& L; O" n! W# {6 w: W& _
also: keep one's shirt on
