Who is my Examiner?

· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.& e, U" M9 W/ r2 `
· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training/ U* e3 O, U! B, h, X0 ?$ O6 w3 g
and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road
0 G" s$ J) @1 K utests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the. q+ O [0 M' }3 y2 m* q

$ p8 J ]0 N/ q w* V9 lWhat do I bring for my road test?

· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo). r4 b5 Q+ A0 {' ?$ Z0 V
then you must also provide acceptable photo ID.
2 q5 ?2 ?0 B. {2 n! d+ B3 M) P' q& v· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the
$ z9 j5 J* i; l8 Zweather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).
$ M# f& ?+ V7 m4 `' `9 a- H· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid
! A2 V9 S* |! l- w7 s9 Cinsurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.7 b3 N3 j6 i8 u) |- r$ h) ?

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to- d: H' j, X. I. U
assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and

You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not6 s* s5 L% r( y; |. j% x+ N. [
stopping at a stop sign).

· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the
# H/ Z- \4 v& A$ u( h, @Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any+ P# i$ ^- l5 N+ {8 m* W
Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this: M n3 O, {. A' ]' J+ `
