Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker
(Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
1 c* }+ x: [9 S/ `) ~-        answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.
1 m9 u6 h8 s! l# r% v" |-        assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
-        reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

$ V( F+ m9 P9 V' p1 ]Qualifications:
* o2 A6 \9 z) d" d  H# N-        post secondary diploma
- i6 x$ b+ K5 X( k& `# v% g& Q! _-        customer service and office clerical experiences
$ ], m8 T" j0 ]5 g-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Position title: Community Development Worker
(Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
0 K: U/ j9 Y1 T/ s" W' e* e-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
& v" U/ q8 Q6 J5 d8 b$ E-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
0 E( g4 D4 L! G-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
2 y6 r" M3 f2 x0 ^-        assist in writing proposal for ISP
- T  _8 S. i* v  d6 n$ s9 c& ]-        write quarterly and final reports for ISP
( h5 Q- K# C9 x+ r" |-        hold regular meetings with ISP team
4 J: I8 ]8 b, j  C- D4 w# B-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
