As the Corporate Financial Co-ordinator within the Corporate Accounting and Reporting office of the Finance Branch, you will lead the year-end reporting functions within the City as well as the operating fund corporate accounting, and guide the development of related policy, procedures, and strategies. This includes:

· Coordinating the completion of the annual consolidated financial statements, the Provincial municipal information return, and other financial reporting for audit.0 v3 {7 }; p- M) j3 v L; o

· Managing a group of professional and administrative staff, in completing ongoing corporate accounting functions.

· University Degree majoring in accounting or finance, and a Professional Accounting Designation.5 P: ~6 J- O6 J0 t+ ~

· A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in the financial accounting and reporting field.! |& m% r& R; a) V2 q; O4 N
R% D! b% Z( q% ?) ]1 H· Experience with complex computerized financial systems. Familiarity with SAP would be advantageous.- ^- G! u- E5 f6 u

· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

· A thorough knowledge of municipal accounting and reporting practices and standards.

· An understanding of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and of commodity tax in a municipal environment would be of benefit.

HOURS OF WORK:
