Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 9 B& y: [/ J! z% ]

- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services5 m' J8 w, b# c! y7 N# U& H
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies9 Z, F u* r7 }5 n4 G6 {: L
- coordinate good will activities

- submit information for community news

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

) r% z5 f/ }7 \; c* I- a! C" V- hold regular meetings with ISP team
1 O& u$ U# Q4 e8 ]- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
: @1 @7 X& x! Z* P8 w3 w- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
7 O% [( j7 p: e- experience in community work and immigrant services
}1 h! p8 j% i- \7 Y: L- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars# z7 _- J4 {& o+ G9 R) T( z8 x, o
