Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. - ~8 `: o. d6 ]

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
$ S- D% r% e3 p- a- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
/ V' ~. u. C! x6 W- H- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies4 F* l7 m; ^! g8 u& P* H
- coordinate good will activities# ]. ]) ~$ w0 S) |; s
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members2 v/ d, V6 n& K" V
- submit information for community news ' t3 ]- V. E! _$ m
- prepare and send AGM information to members
$ B7 q ?8 |3 L4 q' |- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.+ D* h4 G( U9 i' Q" w
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP! S1 H6 C% L: ]! D
- explore new ideas for ISP

Qualifications }1 ?6 o* Q, J" L% m) K! g
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 6 o' h! w% a$ l1 m& L" z; P& ^
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; ^0 O( Y) ? n% r- experience in community work and immigrant services4 R, T) p F: r: a% R( C5 Q# M
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars; R$ U3 I# A6 s: i/ C7 q6 K
- leadership skills- i6 m y- Q9 p0 X! ]
