1 U+ k6 L5 k* S9 u BPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community2 ]/ X; `6 a0 ` _ B+ R
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services5 j2 G/ ~/ I+ v
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
% N( T6 f) L) D( [5 t. N* I- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies% D, x5 R9 K8 {0 k6 R& I- r* v' d
- coordinate good will activities9 h5 G& V/ n3 o5 Z6 v
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members6 h' S# L. F$ [7 G, e+ B& ~$ C
- submit information for community news
; Y6 ?) L7 E& h r! ?% v- prepare and send AGM information to members3 g) |- }& z" L( E; g2 ]
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc." Q+ I* B+ y% }7 r- S0 Z3 N- {
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

5 I ?% M X* O w# _- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP
' N- |0 F7 m6 G9 O& k6 B- write quarterly and final reports for ISP, l" e( l) j- C
- explore new ideas for ISP

& W, \. ?" J9 E, A4 H7 o5 R- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

. Q5 x- I5 C7 n: i( x- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
( Q, ~( L4 p$ K/ E( q( K# p. x2 P- good oral and written Chinese and English skills+ T9 L" U, J* ^7 u3 I, A& G
- experience in community work and immigrant services
?' u( X5 L( `- Q) w, [/ u- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
