Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
% Q% G1 b3 w& a6 D6 c& ?& T- submit information for community news 2 h" h+ E8 i$ s9 L1 Y7 `
- provide volunteers to update membership database
. E" G9 w* a1 B) y+ b7 k7 n9 q+ ^! p- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
5 e/ U& k8 l; P5 Q" f: W- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties6 D3 k% Q/ r* U! c, q* y
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties5 G1 U# t' L' z% n/ a, ?& o0 K
- provide volunteers for various programs ! X5 f L* k: j ?
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
* t& z6 M5 q J/ s; y9 k! O- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation4 @+ b$ j- n! i4 ~
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities, k3 H7 x/ w& n) A( h4 p
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ f- K' a- D2 q4 D3 x" r- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
. {0 K& j) v( Q7 l R, E% q6 J- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
n1 L N5 T) U1 z- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed9 z0 G9 j/ o/ ]
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! u% f# }' T0 |8 P
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 3 R9 I; Z6 h! E) {" J2 }
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 3 l; s/ I3 Z7 V
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers , K& _( a% D+ }4 [- S2 ?% x4 F
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers [: W1 E9 j9 K+ e9 d
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis # @1 k" \$ Q2 q Z/ R
- evaluations ) \7 d' D1 o7 X" @" M
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

z1 _- E! U' t( x" KQualifications
: J! A M% }2 x' Y) e- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
: d1 ^2 V# U7 z) Y7 E8 e& b- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% f' O# ^' q( x# O" v
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services2 K. y$ x3 d% S
- leadership skills
* R3 L: t" P* W( ?) ]- management and supervision skills3 _7 Z9 q8 W8 ~' |
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills% p0 ?2 H( b2 s' J
