Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
. ^& v$ X3 c4 E, l- A5 R- submit information for community news ) k5 _" w+ B E) t2 H" Q1 i) e9 P
- provide volunteers to update membership database P+ d+ R. |) L( l9 I# K1 D
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers [' G: ^' x& |' _# L; L+ s" ^
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
5 Q2 W% b4 i8 ^/ V. h3 e) l- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties) E' W; S1 Z& l* c6 l
- provide volunteers for various programs
( ]4 D3 L9 \* x, w* S J- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
- E- {6 T, T; B+ G6 O4 X- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
S: U7 U" S4 N1 I) B8 ~1 F- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- f( Z4 _# g" a& r- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
' c6 C9 k, C$ V- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
& g0 j: C U- O+ [- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
/ j8 ?# w, w$ X, r4 t' r- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed- R% E B Z" I4 F' d
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
- ]% A/ [$ C' o8 }/ }/ w- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events / J5 y( y1 [2 U0 l+ p% F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
2 d0 i+ P( ]4 D* o* G- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
# C3 ~6 p! ?/ y- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
$ f8 M# X7 n1 d, `5 X- N6 a7 l+ T. \- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications0 p4 S5 r2 ~3 ]
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
8 \- d; Q/ H2 m$ K& e* j- good oral and written Chinese and English skills5 t4 A F7 O+ c- h2 x' ?1 B" }$ U
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
; x, R; U! e" ]7 p9 J4 \2 \- leadership skills
+ k$ H2 ~ D8 Z+ p t+ {- management and supervision skills! E2 D% u- R- C# K
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills) N, B4 {- @; A1 l, L
