Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
7 h& ?. Z# R6 R) l; p- submit information for community news
. ^2 L5 {1 ?+ G- I* r- provide volunteers to update membership database
) j( W+ p. u1 _( o: p; P- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers9 E/ w4 r& {8 X. k I
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
, t" N' q# V) D6 z/ e' f% m7 m- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
3 L0 W8 z/ D! n+ f Q- provide volunteers for various programs 0 f" b+ m# L1 ?
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual7 D% R0 }. I k# Z( S
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation& }0 e1 ^! P9 r3 O; D
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
! B. Y g9 ?) A$ V% c! {" n- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
: S( W" l7 A+ r$ {- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
# j0 \2 \. ]+ d5 j" R" `- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
/ n y# i7 C0 M' _, l- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
6 Y( c9 e/ x3 m0 f3 f+ q9 p* a- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required). K* \% y, B5 z3 }" p
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events . J, B9 m& g2 m( o
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
2 K3 s8 I$ s' \4 i( }/ d, F- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 1 g2 D+ j6 f4 e0 z
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
$ x: l" N4 O& Y( t* s7 [: I- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 9 C: \( [$ _# ?6 v- ]& i, n
- evaluations / a, R) u7 y/ V4 G7 p4 U
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications8 |: K$ A& h2 v: Z3 t3 @
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
. @; P$ ^$ M0 C# \- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. E( `! T! g f* }- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services; K$ Q6 a. L; b3 p2 M" Q# W# N+ q
- leadership skills
' s$ f$ S9 w/ Z, z [1 r- management and supervision skills4 @# k6 D5 b2 C* x Q7 S9 I Z. W
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills; Z$ R! k* W) c% ~0 Z9 @( z/ O, T7 z$ t
