释义:commit all one's available resources toward achieving a goal
& C/ {8 \+ y# f1 ?7 U2 C5 p) n4 w! T3 A! t# m9 [5 z
例句:Our competitors are going for broke to get some of our accounts.         5 J2 n; w/ p8 A( H( h: ^
         为了得到我们的一些客户,我们的竞争者都要孤注一掷了。) |' S# ^2 ^. F6 \

2 G. v" {6 z0 V9 l; I7 v( Q典故:broke作“一文不名”或“破产”解释已有300年甚至更久了,但将 go for 2 |5 E7 q; L) n/ p
         broke 当作“孤注一掷”解释却只是100年前的事,出自赌博时使用的行
