financial and operational success of the Horowitz Theatre as well as

venues within the realm of the Students´ Union. In the light of that

2. Marketing and Promotion

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that
( |' _7 F, N5 hfocuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,
0 l: M* p1 ~% ]2 Y, kstudents, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.

· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz ; A: d6 m8 O$ O1 H. N7 ~
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to 8 P! X0 Y2 W' \4 ~5 W7 ^% O* _# U
take advantage of other internal and external advertising 1 u- |1 `5 Q' q8 ^& i- F* ]
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional

· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- 9 N! h/ w* t9 `( C$ X: _
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the 4 ^- K" \3 j3 }- x% V8 F7 v! C
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and ( o/ a$ F }* E e: K
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of / a& a: r5 m! A$ i, c# M9 U0 c
the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited ! _- B/ N9 o+ L: C: C* i- V
to, the following:2 i+ i- T! `* [# M& C2 h0 J
· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues
( G$ F3 }2 y) N4 O( |8 j; a5 zand Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
, s5 S9 B. Z& {6 c$ C9 D6 Y2 f, ^/ Eevaluating and terminating, as necessary.7 y0 R. G/ g7 e0 P3 P# `: W
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at - A) x6 ~! F1 R
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such * t$ z+ O/ j+ R' I' d! {
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
4 x" a. `4 W2 }5 E; |- @cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
* ~4 u( n3 \# I6 [/ S8 bis in operation or needs to be in operation.
' H% _4 x( ?- h0 O· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure - U3 o9 Z6 m3 H) l
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to $ ? H2 @! K _+ a& M4 F
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all

& X% L P4 p! q· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
# u: _7 c, M- l! w0 ?and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
+ [6 n2 h3 U5 L! x# z, g( zthe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and ) A1 h, ~! P7 w
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and # U8 K7 `( ~- Q9 }
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual - y) C X' Q s2 ^/ k$ Q

· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

scheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance 2 `5 _+ g8 t. d) b

the staff of the venues.
o+ `' O" m+ K( }( u· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the

To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate
) y0 Y) U0 X4 a A+ Qoperating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of

Administration prior to their submission for final approval.

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and

other reports as may be necessary.

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action

the Horowitz Theatre.

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for # ]! R) ]" q/ |) ~3 N3 j6 T
events held in the Horowitz Theatre./ u R2 l. [ }
· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with
: a; [( M/ W# a Fthe billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this # P6 H1 M2 C6 F
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes
5 U& F2 c% Q q9 z8 P! `in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, $ _6 x) Q" H* q& j) q
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing,
& a k+ P! s! {. Qtogether with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary
* Z [- ^: Q+ F' w' {to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and

· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures

· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to ' z9 I+ {/ i7 A3 E
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.

$ N1 O/ G& V: hthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.

particular event in the venues.

supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the ; _; t: O5 z @; S' ~6 |
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
$ j9 Y- S& B/ ~· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular " p' _4 o6 l J* v) Z" I1 N) }
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
- k0 f e1 D$ }1 Q· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
/ o9 w @! `$ |( O# C- U5 PSU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
, @; S6 b( `4 m" A2 `" @3 p. ?& g* {answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
8 }1 R) t( P1 q: l$ Jfollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
( h0 l+ J. A3 c- e& _ To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
1 h/ A( |- J( J' t6 g8 r% weffectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that ; T2 X8 ]2 A- g3 K
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of
