The Bredin Institute 1-STEP Newcomer Settlement Program is offering Free Canadian Citizenship classes starting on September 13th. The classes will be offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for two weeks from 5-8pm. If you are currently a Permanent Resident and are ready to apply for Citizenship within the next six months, this class would be ideal for you. Come learn about the history, geography and government of Canada, as well as your rights and responsibilities as a Canadian Citizen with materials based on the 2011 Discover Canada Study Guide. Participants will be provided with readings and as well as power point presentations and interactive activities. Canadian Citizenship classes are again being offered this month starting on September 13th from 5-8pm. They will be for two weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you or someone you know is planning to apply for Citizenship within the next six months, this class would be helpful in preparing for the exam.

Dates for the Conversation Circles this month are on September 2nd and 16th. This is an opportunity to practice your English conversational skills while discussing various settlement related topics with other newcomers.
