that we cannot support imposing a UBB business model on wholesale Internet

Our government recognizes that the Internet and digital technologies are# g' O. [/ Z! X& _) `4 I

innovation, commerce and social interaction. As the government develops' y* {+ y7 i4 _, O
Canada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look
' W C4 _/ x& g5 O. p8 ocarefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be1 b# O& w. ~! T. h; ^! }
guided by our long-standing policies of encouraging competition and
* D; f6 [2 R W( uinvestment, increasing consumer choice, minimizing regulation and allowing& m- Y% r P; w8 ?; D) v( [! a
market forces to prevail. $ p2 o4 B$ g {

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has- e5 M. i0 I, g8 f" ?7 w5 p
chosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large

any decision counter to these foundational principles be reversed.
