Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order

1) Old Scona Academic# N9 P7 ?/ _+ G' O& ~
2) Harry Ainlay9 i1 G! h) n W
3) Arch Bishop MacDonald2 o* L/ \0 [# m7 l1 B
~$ N3 W% t @. Z$ dStrathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know.

Anyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)5 X6 K! c2 B$ v" T9 G9 w

Vic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...

0 {1 E: C; C! V; }! f7 C. IOtherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)$ k) c( r2 T+ d2 [% y/ D. v [

Like I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
