Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order

% T: [9 B- `: JStrathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know.

Anyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)

+ y" c" u0 K4 M, t8 j2 BVic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...9 Y4 _, N3 R6 D C1 I$ p" p U3 s
I9 ~' T; e! v- y/ k4 }Otherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)& q$ i+ m' B0 f

Like I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
