Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
3 y8 |- ~4 j% M& Eand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
% S* l p+ k' S3 Unon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED, s+ u% H9 `% o, E4 V6 |1 }3 k, Z
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and% L. m4 J# O/ t! L ]
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's: N. }' c8 ~" i- ?2 k8 ^- b
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a$ O9 I( v3 ^7 g2 F
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
8 Y6 x7 ]& e1 [9 Sarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,) Q1 G4 `: ]! Y$ R* z# i# M
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports# I) v8 E4 D% T$ P9 D
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures, j2 U/ B \# \
to implement the organizational policies.- j: J2 m& M: }: v- C
- k- Y. n" ~9 hPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
1 ?9 C2 Q C$ R: v$ d% Sas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and1 Y/ k! v7 X [/ F p
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have+ a. U- _7 S) }$ T

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the

the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure1 N2 Z& u, R5 ]6 s$ r0 m1 W
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts

partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
, @4 o. \0 `- i9 X/ Qorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to( e, k" V+ M! {: m' B3 e
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and1 F0 q9 t- Z5 y/ w0 E

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
