society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

sustainable communities.

' R( }# i3 v' k9 S, ?Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
2 x+ F" m. \% i& I4 t& y+ Gnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
6 G# I( k- S) M9 x; `& Vpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
& f7 Z& A! H9 _+ l6 I' uto implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
* W# @9 W& o3 D  R* h7 h1 A6 Bas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
, ^+ H2 I! b: K! c. S' C2 ]services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
- c' h/ G0 f" [* `2 D7 f2 c  g  ]the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
4 Y8 v  g; w- E: @  r3 ^that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
+ {' z" n8 E; c6 Tthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

5 P) |: o( H9 c6 `- M( O: H! xKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
# Y; S7 [4 t9 M; _1 G  @including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
- b% A( K0 A0 o; vpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
, A. a1 p( I* m* }1 Omanaging projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
