2 h, _. L8 H$ ^4 l- {/ {6 T! ^Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
- d4 U* a z9 L4 H! g2 s0 aand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a- S1 z3 m s0 b
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED9 }! G1 }/ i) {! }* S' @
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and' O* H7 b! w8 `
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
& f a. b2 G9 Maffairs at all times.# D4 E& \+ d; ^# S7 B: G# G

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
# A8 \$ I! _ z2 evision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative2 a# l3 ?% ]" }2 I8 m
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
a3 ]- x$ H( G, M' F2 bmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
' D% E% [. r: E6 qfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures+ T, p" X1 b, y$ k7 Q" Q# v' _
to implement the organizational policies.
# Q8 ]2 o/ L$ F! Q) ]4 Z$ c) n; G* z" k! }/ U5 h- }
PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded5 r5 q& p3 G$ c8 n' h- L; z6 y% O
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and) Q& M4 U3 `* E- ~0 z2 D7 Q9 b8 k+ J+ W0 i
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have; O' E# ^5 ?1 z* k5 \9 E. l. p' r1 V
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

' _8 S* k5 P1 _7 x* D3 q+ m tIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
+ D% L, Q' O, r, Hdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer- A& I0 f( v# Z0 m
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure' i+ Y$ ]% n: t& o
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
4 X3 z0 b! z) Z: t- ~payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of* H' \9 X: G3 }. ~! H! B
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
5 I3 I( q7 b- A9 L, K4 aincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
: a$ K3 g7 ]. S8 J( Z+ fpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
; L- x# V/ q4 G" j0 U9 worganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to- q1 W8 o8 c; h% a* w/ P' M9 h2 d
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
9 c/ M4 g2 W* X! {9 C$ N$ [9 Y; }6 Fmanaging projects and budgets./ _7 K& V2 Q- i

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance

with youth.
