Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management w4 ]8 n3 B8 v% ^5 Q% A
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
8 ^% o' I0 ^1 n5 onon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED
: w& o% @3 W/ u) U$ y* z! v0 ^works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and2 a/ ]& s+ K ~8 a5 J# M
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
+ a" B. A8 P7 O3 haffairs at all times.
8 a- n6 D( t' ^) v3 q* K/ N: e6 a# P% d" T# n/ p. U7 O
Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a9 p3 C' o$ G" F
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative7 p% K+ Z5 C) \
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,2 |2 y2 u+ ?; P# R" E
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
2 `6 x8 ^9 B% W1 }$ j- \for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures* R/ \: Y: ^9 M0 E3 Q* G, a; G
to implement the organizational policies.8 C& l4 y; K2 V0 B5 K8 [

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
1 B; V& K7 X: D: Q, cas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
1 f. ]; J* y# r/ u% U. j: uservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have

the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure

including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government$ P, M7 L; h) p
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of: P! v9 v: L3 \& d9 g! U
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
# T# I7 `/ G% Nwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
