22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

2 Q6 V+ f* `$ s- U* YJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
0 z, ]8 _2 ^) k+ D2 h! E# A% t9 H, Q% IOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
: R, F5 Y* M& eprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

6 z6 A2 ~; m5 r4 u6 f$ n! p4 ~DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
$ p* \1 y0 G% g0 o, {1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
8 U* v' q( Y; n3 C3 X+ U7 ^+ Pbeverage items.

2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

" _: T2 A6 f: q. i: U& X3 u3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
. B5 D, F+ g6 ?) h+ }. J# qeach shift, and upon closing.
$ J& z1 N  e9 S: v3 M
* r+ H% o, z1 r8 W# A4 ?+ l4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
- O6 N' I1 N; v- b  f4 rattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

1 ]0 y  o( F7 o" ~$ Y' ?5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

- L) ~" p8 z1 w6 F0 k4 Z8 W6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
) S+ ~3 s6 a  K: yhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
: H8 {5 o# R" S- K8 qaccordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
) [4 a; q$ a' ^- G: `high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
- Y( I' M8 L* ^4 R To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
/ v( m$ j, s8 C( K" k- ?0 v8 LAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
$ _- G5 q% p3 o6 l8 FSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

5 f. n# H/ g9 H1 d7 z4 I2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
6 b/ k( c7 ~% `0 ^; hoperation.
( B4 k% r( i5 y' E2 q
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
accordance with Students' Union policy.
5 ^$ ~% Q8 Y& k7 @& `
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
" Y% Z- F( T) @Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
- C+ k# X" y, Y3 zattitude.

Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
