BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  ) @) X, B/ a& z2 G( f. ^
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
" w6 }0 B% J: q+ j9 hOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
) d5 f* v. a9 z2 K9 H4 D1 `procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
- k# H3 S" f7 t( O$ d0 Pcleanliness and order in the bar.
) I6 |  L8 W0 l5 [/ s7 m8 j7 f# [: x2 ~+ X
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- n4 B9 J( F' t0 k" r- Y  a1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
8 p1 n7 G: {$ {  J. L" P- Dbeverage items.4 B1 p0 a. c; `1 |5 C. b5 p
6 x. s2 H7 m0 k) r0 j1 Q
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
$ b- M% @9 M" Z3 K# W' Nbar and debit floats.  x7 o4 \/ `0 R

) v/ c+ U5 e/ `( m: ]3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
9 \4 B5 t  _& neach shift, and upon closing.
) U" m; d4 A% n" W: V5 r+ V! u# U; B; I
4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  # {* \  o, J- N- z3 _( }# G; q
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
, J6 T/ E0 B8 a; dseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.! A2 N8 q0 Z' S: e

- u4 @+ `5 \- f5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
7 _+ z) Z: k9 k) p, h7 i7 m7 mstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  " X  x" r! X/ U4 B, @3 d5 J* l
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
  F0 t+ q# p3 A9 c0 B% ?9 d; Y+ Q
. N+ ]1 F$ l+ t& K6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
; e4 X8 u0 x1 Q2 u* e3 B) K6 s2 gmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
3 d5 M7 f2 d1 |high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  0 P7 S5 v9 R9 }
accordance with Students' Union policies., W  f2 k& z8 }# n* d# q

7 Q6 r% x6 ]8 |3 k7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
: z& N3 U% t" F( z. R0 khigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room., ?, M; a4 v  y1 o2 P
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
" S- T4 K6 X( ^! m7 {3 RAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies./ U& W; @$ p* L5 ?( u' f, C/ F8 Q

# i' X( D: i* wQUALIFICATIONS:
$ N  b- t/ H7 W1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
& U5 F7 T4 H" Y; X4 Q2 I, f+ _5 h( L# ~
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
0 p, {# H0 \" E* Aoperation.
; Z5 y2 a$ k9 H5 P' w; @1 }
% Q" h% z8 n' F1 [- s1 g3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  ( e* c) C8 n3 k. k
accordance with Students' Union policy.
5 g! n; @4 h- t% x' H% J8 j, k& |9 R
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.: M0 U; T* v. `! g$ w6 U

) m/ Q. p. }5 w+ v) }  o5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
+ \4 L/ a1 O/ W6 JUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic    q2 ?  Z* X2 P- r
attitude.
