" J! Q1 m8 O$ W" x* _5 T+ z. IJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  & T6 i* J( V. \0 H; g
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
( P8 P; ~- W. |7 Jprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  9 R$ X. y, ^. `% h" X; c6 C+ u1 S3 M/ _
cleanliness and order in the bar.( I8 G; l3 }- v3 K) v$ H

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. R; x- Y7 M. S# S1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  7 |. M/ q$ P8 R0 [
beverage items.

: ~: x' Z9 Z: @4 D/ }2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
* ~2 Y: o) ^% ~9 ybar and debit floats.
; Y5 g4 U  [8 k4 e
2 y# f- q$ K, f9 \7 E3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  , k. s) G7 Z8 U$ C: F% {1 l7 ]+ _. p6 \6 U
each shift, and upon closing.: V# N- c4 K. }& Z( W- r7 Z4 \9 ?

, d4 `: t( C+ t- e# i" V4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  : E3 o; x8 `+ x3 D; Z
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
7 C5 Z% @- a1 z+ J2 A6 yseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
) }3 Z; u# H& m) p7 X/ ]
0 A- r. v# J. e  i7 k5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  0 Y$ X. p, h: {9 N* |7 `
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  5 w) \  n1 w$ R. ~1 \% _
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
9 B1 f/ z  T- U$ A; t# V9 t
( a+ ^! W6 S9 c3 g8 n: H# a6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
, R) c& u4 M8 `. N" @5 Nmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  + E% A- Q* N3 z8 G2 k* N. @4 t
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  * L, |& b  F3 }) \0 n
accordance with Students' Union policies.

( N, O7 B$ I1 e( n6 v7 Q' ~- `" F7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  , \9 P8 J1 V- [+ `. z0 G0 ]( k
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
  i% H1 K8 C# l6 T2 v4 c, A To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  3 ?' A3 J: x5 Z& _. P7 b0 z8 D( W8 H
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

  ^; `6 k# I6 _) ~" `9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,

6 e% o$ S# n5 r: l# Q# s* l( vQUALIFICATIONS:
' `: B! E$ f: D9 J( O9 a( u* G1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.0 R8 x! _0 e7 v2 P& T
8 i% m% n! n9 E' Q& E7 f% f; t
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  6 J  d0 C7 S8 w/ t3 C4 _" x
operation.
& ^; l8 T* \% g- `. v9 f: x& \$ d1 |/ `; _# D0 j7 ]* J) V
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
/ }1 w# c5 V; l" M( v8 Vaccordance with Students' Union policy.# g. d8 Y3 ]# \/ r

+ h! G. g* y; w$ E* e4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.% R4 p/ y4 [* }* x# x# `5 L
) k$ T, k( c8 K7 |8 @
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
# n  |% H0 D" l4 hUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  / J0 N/ }9 C9 w$ w
attitude.3 D4 s( K7 k1 ?1 M/ ?! m& }

4 C- c( A: H, kWage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
