The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

# J6 V( H) F  j, I8 dSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
, R7 }# P6 ~. f" G* Mpay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
/ K( {. ~( t& A& K3 s/ P) A$ y- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
) L9 l8 i( v; I' d2 Vthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
' [1 o% j* b, P: h4 j& QCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
8 \7 y) s+ y# _4 Xvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
8 o4 k9 R( ], }. Z* h- Ietc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
, i6 d/ X  |( T4 {! A$ Itheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
( t: ?2 j% k$ A9 h% oassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
. A. e4 N. I/ E( I; B) Fvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
/ o  J2 d' b4 w6 ]; Msuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
$ \) D5 \6 W! y6 H2 f- {Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
' z5 r$ c$ [5 x, B7 d* O/ `demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
" A' x3 C7 c0 sof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
9 u! D# j# G) s% T8 n) dskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
5 ~; w3 A1 w# `- d* ^Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
