The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
# I, {& R2 N; ~* @( npay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- s8 X$ \3 ]6 B+ F- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
) E5 e$ ~! s8 x8 N  Z" uthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
school year starts.

7 [) \1 L: A% GDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
- p1 \2 i& F# ~% vvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
. F4 S# u  x9 t) `: b8 [etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
+ h& ~3 S! P: n: Z: a' M. Y8 `venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
9 v! |  c+ g9 Goutings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
2 Y2 d, P1 Q+ b1 T2 @$ X$ mexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
3 J2 e  M4 K2 u* U. E( U. K' Kfunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
  K, H7 ^( ]" J, v# Qsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
+ P" J3 s" c4 Z: u+ G& Cpresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.
# i# ]; p9 u; Y/ [: j
5 O2 b% i; ]8 L6 P; \. c2 k* w& WQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
  \7 S9 B& |) {# ]Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
  u! O' V2 X' A3 U' Qdemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
9 p# ~. e! U% t% Ra variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
9 F3 ?- [9 D% dof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
7 J4 c+ ]7 G9 Q% x/ i; @6 ?# |skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
  ^4 l: r( q) N: g( {  rExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
0 A/ a: S# C  L% y+ Bexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
