currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
8 \) v- z# [5 ^& e: \pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

+ p# h6 ~, x2 s1 n' K/ l8 THours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
% ]3 j5 V1 Z: H* C  gthe student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
6 G3 S# Q& J; g  P' S0 w5 |school year starts.

. B$ e' j  H* B) V6 D( YDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
5 }5 ~5 z! |# k% ~, Q' mCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
$ F) C: {& `" z! x( yvenues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
. ]9 q- @! \$ }. zetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
  ?. d$ i4 c9 [! B/ K; E+ Xparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
7 X& A* s8 k4 w$ ]+ r+ o7 Rtheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
+ M7 E  D+ @1 l! W) fassisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
! g. b1 d. m& T% U. jexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
" Q' M! z/ B% y3 ksuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

+ c6 o) F2 U& M( Q; E) j1 ^Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
% M( B2 @7 W6 FCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
: b$ Z# W! I& {+ S4 p$ Ifluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
skills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
3 V* u- v3 k# z: U8 AExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
