The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

) U; }+ l: T0 j, p- l. k0 j3 XSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

. h9 T6 f" {: ~Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
+ M& }+ [( a+ ~+ }" Stechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
5 ~+ E% ]; p. Dinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
6 }8 {& J6 i6 w' uanalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
4 E7 \- h0 w- Q1 K7 JThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
. @4 M& A9 m% Z: G+ eand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
