The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
9 C2 U7 u) z7 H! X% hfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

9 s" Q3 ?7 k5 J) ^1 lQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
, k+ @+ k7 |5 FChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
& t- M$ Z; c( ^/ A7 Z1 @2 i) Q. Aseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
2 X- D: r: j" C) U* L& M! X, P3 j5 z4 jand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
