The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

# N' Q! g8 O( o" @! K/ UDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
+ y8 n( J5 \2 }. stechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
# H# c3 r$ i! C3 p" F; C4 Nfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
: V' N1 K, O2 L2 \  i( |2 Q& ?include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
6 A( t: j# t  j2 O4 T8 m+ g5 N$ {" Bcompounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
  ~% R/ ]# y8 M0 Phope to work in these areas.
