The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

" b- u. p, _! \! ZSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
& E, a7 ]/ ]* D, n% _3 u! D; G
Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
: ^2 m& m2 C- r+ \& e* binclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.
+ B/ z! p" r1 j3 w
8 L' N0 h  ~# X6 y8 IQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
+ q! }5 T* x) |) O- q  ^analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
; ]+ X7 D  l3 i. qThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
+ ^; O: {- V3 E  {; b, Land chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
