Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
' @! p( q3 r9 k$ q5 tweekend hours.
8 K9 W4 D& _& F4 i, BYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer: G! Z/ x' b/ j! W) ?3 i
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the' b; L) b2 E3 f) @( f. q5 D
centre.4 w" v9 l2 S* V- F3 f0 t
These responsibilities include:
/ b% k" i9 H! E* B9 U-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC." @" _" k2 X5 H" F1 C" b! D
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
% d3 x! T6 R3 U; r( |$ v; D" l-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
- i% Y, [: H2 y- Drenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
6 J$ S1 n- W' g5 Q9 Ffacilities’ maintenance, etc.
5 p) @& J( y1 l3 Q, f; L-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic 9 [) o4 }! k: ]* |$ G( [/ g
clients’ files etc.

Education:
, Q- T& X7 \/ n' E-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 8 T* L$ ]1 F1 o- d" l
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
" I( ]! P; a& a& _1 }$ ~, s0 l' u5 mof education, training and /or experience. , G1 V- J% M7 f. c2 l2 Q: H
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
F& S7 G4 V0 u9 X9 @) w-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.7 c9 h4 G# ]2 N- T+ h
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
! {) ^4 U5 \3 B4 P% @; d# aand Excel. ! ~: i7 O# o9 U$ _: ]
-Experience using and updating an information database. 6 ^9 B# M0 F* J
