Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:
' y/ f2 {. H! R3 F5 _0 k' P/ |"I am going to send it back". " X2 G3 [- w9 G2 v
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:- a8 J g* |, N; u4 Y
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?" + c" O# s7 y1 ?" Y/ ^
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."
w1 S# Y3 q6 j" W/ g"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" . Z" J0 |* h" P# Y# k, o
"Yes, I did."9 c' V# ]9 R, e0 Q# }+ N8 t' V2 W
Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
1 n! z/ e) L2 H R8 OHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. - a0 K% \ c9 V2 V
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"& k& B% |. G* M. K) }$ |# |
"No, I am not. I do not do those things."
0 S3 w# d3 Y' C3 D+ l' eHe took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. / ~# y/ I( ]* O8 L$ Q) l9 A
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:

0 [+ {3 D- a! I0 Z8 M2 p5 n u"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:0 P$ p7 P& e" Z4 N- {7 u8 S9 i! ]
"I do not have an address."
# a1 |+ a4 g0 q. nI was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"" v/ p: E$ ^" g
He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
9 z) D1 t/ i) K* U( qMy heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it.
8 o N- n) y0 W" t; @; u8 g7 ]9 HHe did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity. 9 O+ j# q/ C1 ?" z
