　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,

　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

　　One single white immensity.
8 O; q8 D( C6 c
　　The Yellow River"s swift current
2 T: I% @* K. r1 O. Y$ A* v( D
　　Is stilled from end to end.

　　The mountains dance like silver snakes
3 k6 _+ Z. P0 X# k$ v
8 L4 K" \+ z$ W/ Z$ Z; f$ k' w　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

　　Vying with heaven in stature.

　　On a fine day, the land,

2 {) T( v' a2 _; B6 u/ i9 |3 U　　Clad in white, adorned in red,

　　Grows more enchanting.

8 b- I- u/ l' ~* s  v0 t; P; s　　This land so rich in beauty

　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

　　But alas! Chin Shih-huang and Han Wu-ti

+ r+ \  z7 a4 O7 v; J8 i: K) n　　Were lacking in literary grace,

9 R; Y) H) r: X* s& U0 P　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

　　Had little poetry in their souls;
　　And Genghis Khan,

　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

4 B* X: I9 `# r- i: n. O; H% E　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

　　All are past and gone!

　　For truly great men

　　Look to this age alone.

　　江山如此多妖 引无数英雄竞折腰 惜秦皇汉武 略输文采
