The item, which turned out to be a DVD player, was reported to police just after 8:30 a.m. and officers swooped in to shut down entrances to the shopping centre.

0 U4 q+ D( \% @! g, u4 GPolice evacuated the mall, and a short time later determined the package was merely a DVD player left on a bench outside the SportCheck store.' L6 f" \( q3 w9 J a% B

"I think we made a very measured response and dealt with the safely issues appropriately," said Staff Sgt. Steve Jones. "We just contained an area within the mall."7 `& _0 f. |' X; x" I
