好消息！爱城明年将新添六所学校

9 V$ |# `+ [- A8 L! I0 f2016-2017学年将迎来六所全新的学校，向埃德蒙顿的学子们敞开大门。

/ ^2 T5 ^2 `3 H4 P阿尔伯塔省本来计划建设六所“启动学校”，每个能容纳大约250名学生，意图尽快完成施工，而后扩张学校。

  p6 d2 L0 N  T) e- H! G' ]但很多埃德蒙顿学区成员致信教育部长戈登·德克斯，希望改变计划，建立正常大小的学校。

“原计划中会获得新学校的地域对于学校有极大的需求，所以如果建立启动学校的话，大量流入学校的学生们将会迫使我们立刻实施扩张，而在学生们学习时施工对学习有不好的影响。”埃德蒙顿公立学校委员会的主席，迈克尔·詹资说。“四年来，又有十万学生就读于埃德蒙顿公立学校，所以我们迫切的需要更多的学校。”

4 a/ _9 q( }2 `4 @/ ?3 l6 ~他们估计启动学校扩张过程会花费额外的六到八个月。

5 o4 w7 L" z8 G& d5 F  i9 g% N在周三时，省政府接受了建议。埃德蒙顿将会迎来四所公立学校与二所天主教学校，每个可容纳600到900个学生，将坐落在城市南部与西部两端。

For Edmonton Catholic Schools, that means full-sized, new Catholic elementary-junior highs in Heritage Valley in southwest Edmonton and in Pilot Sound-McConachie in northeast Edmonton.

“We are extremely pleased with the government’s decision,” said Edmonton Catholic Schools spokeswoman Lori Nagy. “We look forward to receiving the specifics and the timeline for these projects.”

Edmonton Public Schools has said its top priorities for permanent, full-sized schools are the Windermere neighbourhood in the southwest, followed by The Grange in the west, Heritage Valley in the south and Ellerslie in the southeast.

请问只是住这六个小区的有学校上 还是周围的小区也能到这个小区上学？

我想住在这六个小区的是保证能上的。至于周边小区那得取决于教育局的具体划片和到时各学校还有没有多余的位置。
