According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.2 Z! v& r' w6 M

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.9 t5 o( f- w, b8 F8 G' p. `

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.' }: J/ h+ k8 @: z: U
: D9 w3 q5 D# ^/ n" sSearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said. F+ C. u3 m- A" [4 _

8 t" `( ]0 a" P% Q. Z$ V, e# [A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. Rivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
