Newcomers are being offered some help when shopping for a home in Edmonton’s tight housing market.
& l" F* r) h# k/ ]( UImmigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents. & m+ m4 w9 m' K! ]: a
, T! Y# ?( [. w/ ]# M w4 q# UIn the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items.

7 e3 m2 G4 b. w- x“The tools are a symbol of hope for people trying to build new lives in Edmonton,” said Madeline Sarafinchan, president of the Edmonton Real Estate Board.
