(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
6 h! U+ ?3 y. a(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,0 l# x1 g; i, J: ]7 X F+ J
permit another person+ C/ Z7 J- F: ~) \; v% T; N
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or
3 W- ?0 Q$ `! w l; u2 b: _: ?(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,3 _4 B" H; P( Z7 w
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;3 b, W) e4 }) C, \* q
(d) give or lend a financial- c4 D. H6 C, {
responsibility card or a copy of it5 T/ z. S+ @% x/ W, `
to a person not entitled to have that financial
: Z* l" R2 r/ w, F' K; H# Vresponsibility card or copy.% x/ b' ~4 u1 }3 c7 x- c" A$ G

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway
* ^( N# n( x3 A* L0 Ywithout the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of: W# y$ `( [' m& g3 \- m M7 b- {
the vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection- p3 V& C/ ^" Y/ }
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is
$ Q/ ^9 @. z; @0 e( Jnot an insured motor vehicle.

If the registration of a motor vehicle is suspended under this
1 G" K$ v. m5 |- Z5 ~% h- uAct, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this

3 K8 e( F6 E0 [9 i3 g1 g8 g1 XSubsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a A# C& z( e1 b; y( H: d5 C
financial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the
% d7 w+ Y7 A# x& h; C: Q6 d9 PInsurance Act( F: `% t |' [; c$ b: W% Q
by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy
9 |4 N! j3 y; |& Houtside Alberta.6 u% U& K$ `& x6 F2 B' D0 @! X- J$ ~

9 X% {( E, ~5 K' f1 @0 f, p FA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection& U6 z# [; d1 l' \, Q" W/ w3 K
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,+ o( @+ h6 F: [; g% U
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
0 {5 }% k; Q. k! Y% Zand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
. S2 z: w) y) l) Y) T! Oimprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not$ h+ Y+ A* t4 T( U; i2 }5 g F G( @
more than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
